My new car has no spare, either. Heck of a situation.
Somewhere on the Colorado Front Range -
No like most cars nowadays they give an air pump and a can of fixaflat. It also broke the sidewall on the front tire. So two tires and we will have to see about the rims.WeberWho said:Gulfcoastguy said:

Ouch. No spare tire? -
That’s a heck of a blow out, front tire too glad you’re ok! @GulfcoastguySouth of Columbus, Ohio.

Oh my! What did you hit? Wheel took a heck of a wallup too!Gulfcoastguy said:

My bad driving, Biloxi has horizontal grate drain inlets and I got to close to the curb at 45 mph. The grate can have a drop off if the road had been overlaid. There goes 20 plus years of not at fault accidents. Front wheel it just broke the sidewall on the tire. The thing is if the wheel needs replacing, how long to get a replacement?Ozzie_Isaac said:

Unless it is cracked, you can usually fix the mating face. Some local machine shops can do it if your wheel place can't.Gulfcoastguy said:

I have done it when I worked in a machine shop.
I also wouldn't necessarily call this your fault. I'd reach out to the city. Around here they will pay for damage caused by roadway issues like potholes.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

No accident report, I didn't hit anyone or vice versa. If I make a big deal it could be filed on insurance but then my rates would go up. As far as the city goes, again no police report and the drain inlet was on the outside of the stripe. So likely 2 grand possibly up to 3 provided nothing but tires, 1 maybe 2 wheels, and a realignment. Could be worse the big battery pan seems untouched and all of the panel gaps seem even.
-
Panel gap check, I feel that. I hit a cattle grate in my 2500 a few weeks ago at about 80mph. After I woke back up, I did an alignment check, crawled underneath checked all the welds, and looked at all the panel gaps. Everything looked good and she still drives perfect.Gulfcoastguy said:No accident report, I didn't hit anyone or vice versa. I hit the same cattle grate in my Jeep regularly with no issues. Not sure if it is the wheelbase, tire pressure, suspension geometry, front end weight or what, but my truck does not like that cattle guard transition.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

Cattle grates are the worst. My sister Beulah got her lower lip caught in a cattle grate once, but she was smart enough to make mooing sounds so we knew she was caught in a a cattle grate somewhere. Still, there was damage, her lower lip was gone, so from that day forward we had to flip her on her bum.and feed her mushy stuff. In my family, you love your sister and help her no matter where her lips have been.

One to 2 days to order the tires. They think the rims will be okay but can’t be sure until they try to put the tires on them.Gulfcoastguy said:

There is a small basket insert to add wood pellets for smoke, not as fuel. They have the 'outdoor use' CYA clause but it should be fine for indoor use without the pellets. Not too shabby 700F for pizza.fishlessman said:canuckland -

I watched a review of this (for a pizza cook) and I'm not sure I really get it. The only real upside over other options is the speed to get up to temp.Canugghead said:

Didn't Ninja go bankrupt, or was it InstaPot? Does George Foreman still make a grill? I used to use one of those all the time, till movers broke it.

Instapot is the one that is bankrupt/re-organizing. I'm hoping they'll survive as I just ordered one of their air fryers.Ozzie_Isaac said:Didn't Ninja go bankrupt, or was it InstaPot? I bought their air fryer on the last Prime Day in July. It is a great little device.Clinton, Iowa

IMO it's a good alternative to one trick pony Breville Pizzaiolo or Ooni Volt 12 at less than half the price, albeit at 700F max. Perfect for condo dwellings where only electric cookers are allowed.JohnInCarolina said:

🤔 Interesting device, never pay full price at Canadian Tire though…____________________Entrepreneurs are simply those who understand that there is little difference between obstacle and opportunity and are able to turn both to their advantage. •Niccolo Machiavelli

You're right about crappy tire pricing in general. However, in this case their $479 price tag is actually cheaper than canuck amazoid pre-order price of $551 for January delivery.paqman said:🤔 Interesting device, never pay full price at Canadian Tire though…
Edit: amazoid US price is US$349 (approx 477 loonies)canuckland -

Just a quick PSA: saw on the news today that Russia actually makes many of the tires on the world market, and they’re expecting a severe snow tire shortage this year; if you’re due for a retread, might want to do it soon."Hallelujah, Noel, be it Heaven or Hell,

I took a quick peek at the first and last pages. It appears page 1 was about the original oven and page 8 is about the newer pizza version, not sure when he switched.WeberWho said:Canugghead said:

BGE #2, a JJ George table, and everything else to get smoking.

(I sold BGE #1 before I moved 2,400 miles across the country.)
