Thermacell refills.   Starting to get very skeeter-ish down here.    Wild weather/temp swings this Springtime.

I haven’t tried this and don’t know if it works, but it has always intrigued me. Saw a box fan on sale at Costco and was really tempted to get it and to try this out once the mosquitoes emerge here.

@GrateEggspectations interesting contraption.  Thermacell works surprisingly well FYI.

Interesting concept for sure, if they get that bad I may try that.

I've been a big believer in Thermacells since they first came out.   I now have a couple rechargeable for around the house and the butane versions for camping, hunting, etc.

Instant pot keeps f'ng up the underside of my cabinets when I do a quick release, so I'm getting this little silicone thing that redirects the steam

Have you tried using that instapot to save a brisket cook that’s gone sideways?

Thanks for the input. We actually have a Thermacell. I’ve never really discerned whether it made a difference or not.

Last year, my wife insisted on getting a service to spray for mosquitoes, but I’d like to avoid it again this year.

Why buy a filter removal tool? Chances are you already have a long screwdriver...

... twists right off! You're welcome.

I must have done that a dozen times, but look at all that space!  I'd grab a pipe wrench, less mess.

I broke my favorite oil filter wrench using a cheater bar.  Then Nola's wise words started echoing around in my head.  3 foot pipe wrench.

It’s a 21 barrel pick. Company has 80+ locations. One closest to me never gets any of their allocations or barrel picks. Needed a couple of things, went to customer service and was pleasantly surprised to see it

6 new deep cycle blue top Optima batteries for our offshore boat. Dad had one not crank starboard engine Friday. Check the dates on them, June of 2013. We got 10 years outta AGM’s, wasn’t gonna go down the rabbit hole of lithiums

I replaced the head gasket on one of my 1993 Yamaha 200s and it was pretty much what you’d expect.  Hopefully the bolt heads will shear off before the shaft, so you have some shaft that’s proud to grab and screw then out vs getting the proverbial shaft.  New bolts and run a tap through the threads.  Hell, you know the drill

i know theres still one broke in there from the last time.  theres a place called sei that sells the lower end complete for about a grand, prices for a new outboard are insane nowadays

Hey Fish, another option is to get your brother to weld the lower unit on😂

those should come off fine, its those tiny 5/16 pump housing bolts that are tricky. the lower unit has been welded on before but just the side fins and skeg

For some reason, still have the outboard from my first boat (co-owned with bro-in-law, we did three more over the years).  Memory says it's an early 60's 35HP Merc DR.  By design it had no neutral, the DR stood for "Drive-Reverse".  Most came to refer to them as "Dock Rammers", us included.

Bought my 91 because of all the late 50s and 60 mercs that were still on the water

Bought three brushless RC cars. Been out of the hobby for 15 years….right when 2.4 GHz stuff was coming out mainstream.  Also picked up a charger, some batteries, etc

That brings back memories…late 80s hobby for me.   Tried to get my oldest daughter into it, didn’t take.

Electric advances revolutionized the hobby.  Digital 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi-like radios, brushless motors and Lithium polymer and ion batteries made it much better and affordable.  If you can get the kid off video games and social media 😂🤣
