Having flown all kinds of RC vehicles, I can appreciate the complexity required for that kind of 3D maneuvering.  I was never very good with the 3D stuff.  Too hyperactive to stick with the practice and too poor to replace broken parts constantly

Wife had an architect stop by yesterday.  Not sure what she is buying, or if I should be concerned.  Especially since I leave my cushy corporate job next Friday.

Oh, and I just bought 20 tons of decorative rock for the front yard.

I love “show” rock.  In laws live in the Texas Hill Country on property.   Wife and I outlined all our beds with rock from there.    Would haul a truck load back every time we went out for years.   No telling tonnage - not as much as you for sure - but it’s work and makes things easy on the eyes.

Nothing like a river rock front yard.  Juice the he!! out of the soil with serious weedkiller, lay down the heavy duty plastic, style the rocks once and the obligatory one-time watering and you are good to go.
Paid a drive by to a house we did that process to 40 years ago in NORCAL in January, rocks are still looking fine and happy.  Rented from 1984 til selling in 1998.

Not much show rock around here. I’ve thought about hauling some from eastern NC and selling it here in Ohio. It is nice on a landscape.

Everyone has rock here.  Never heard it called show rock though, just decorative rock.  3/4"-1" screened granite.  Pick your color.

Doesn’t Show Rock come from Vegas?

Ah, when I read the tonnage the first thing that came to me was larger sized (small boulder type) rock.   We see a lot of granite (usually in light pink hues) for landscape features that’s called “show” rock (or at least that is what my landscaper calls them)

Makes me chuckle thinking about human beings. When I worked on the farm in the summer we “picked rocks” and sold them to landscapers.

I happen to be standing in a neighborhood with the pink hues you mention.  You can generally tell the age of a neighborhood based on the rock color.  Also note the clear HOA violation in the photo.

Ah, the monochromatic neighborhoods of the southwest.  Reminds me of my time living in San Diego.

Violation could be car outside, garbage cans visible or the visible satellite dish.  I'd write them all up on a strongly worded postcard.

Got most of them.  I spy two more:

    4. Palm leaves laying in yard
    5. Rust on mailbox

Car in driveway is debatable.  If it stays over night then definitely a violation.

Nice score!  That looks like a fun project.

At least it wasn't the Big Green Egg she bought the poor guy for Father's Day.  That's the only reason I hang out here to meet the guy who bought mine.

Seriously, there's a lesson here for all of you guys.  When you decide to go, take your crap with you!  Surprise her with Two Men and a Truck!

Too bad she's in Minnesota, she sounds like one I'd like to help over her hurt.

I ended up picking up this tool chest off Marketplace late last fall. I purchased it from a lady who was going through a divorce from her husband. She even mentioned that her ex-husband was going to be pissed once he realized that all his tools were gone but she didn't care as she was the one who bought them all. (I had nothing to do with the divorce but I still felt like I was somehow kicking the dude in the balls and taking his stuff. I had no prior knowledge to any of this before coming to pick up the tool chest with a friend.)

It's been an ongoing project. I started by removing and throwing away all the drawer liners. They had seen their better days. I looked online for replacement drawer liners but they wanted something like $35+ a drawer. That wasn't going to happen. So I found some cheap yoga mats and used the old liners for a pattern.

I removed all the drawers and cleaned up the tracks from years of neglect. The drawers now open and close like new.

The tool chest came with a built in stereo. For some reason the previous owner removed the speakers from it. I would have personally just removed the whole stereo from the tool chest all together since I already have speakers hung out in the garage but I didn't look right with empty speaker boxes. So I slapped in some speakers and hooked the stereo back up.

The tool chest has a built in power strip but it's on the outside wall of the cabinet. Which doesn't do any good when you want to power something up in the upper cabinet. So I took a hole saw and cut out a hole in the tool chest this afternoon to run a magnetic power strip through it.

I added a magnetic paper towel rack on the side of it. That's pretty much all I can think of for now. I'm sure they'll be other things that I'll end up needing or wanting down the road. Not much of a post other than cleaning up an older tool chest and making it a little more functional...
Dang man.  Might as well slept with his o'lady too and sent him photos.  Sheesh.

    J/k, awesome score.

    Damn, you Minnesota people!

I remember reading a story in the Sioux Falls Argus Leader, back from HS or possibly Jr High.  Some guy in Minneapolis/St Paul saw a classified ad, a Porsche 911 for $100.  He called the advertiser, she said No it wasn't a misprint, so he drove over to see it.  It was good, he bought it, and after he handed her the check he said, "Uh, you know that car is worth so much more, don't you?"  She smiled and said yes.  She explained her husband had left her, ran off with his secretary, and then had the gall to ask her to sell his car and send him the check.
She smiled, and said, "So I complied."

My Dad picked up that exact same cement mixer last summer. We probably put 60 or so bags through it for the one project we did. It's a nicer portable mixer. Those cases are also really nice for the price. I picked one up for my Flameboss. Nice score!
