D2 steel is tool grade. Hard to beat up and agreed, hard to sharpenOzzie_Isaac said:To be clear, I like D2 for knife steel. Tough and decent edge retention, but can be hard to sharpen.LBGE, 28” BS, Weber Kettle, HCI 7.8 SE Texas -
Goodness. Looks amazing but I’ll wait until the new Spyderco Para2 drops. Already on the list. Time for me to re-diversify. Hahahanolaegghead said:LBGE, 28” BS, Weber Kettle, HCI 7.8 SE Texas -
That OTF seems like a good price point too.nolaegghead said:I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

Spyderco designs have just never tickled my fancy. They make very nice knives, maybe if I actually handle one I will change my mind.TechsasJim said:

The best knife I ever had was a Sprint Run Spyderco Para2. Much like BM, rock solid locking. The only difference was the frame lock. I do prefer the Axis lock bc it’s easier to do one handed.Ozzie_Isaac said:

I love all my BMs but still a special place for a Spyderco.I gave my old neighbor (a Sheriff) a Spyderco Manix and it was the only time I ever saw him show any emotion. He still carries it to this day (and that was about 10-12yrs ago)LBGE, 28” BS, Weber Kettle, HCI 7.8 SE Texas -
I have a Spyderco with the no rust in saltwater steel. It is in my pocket daily.

I collect Gerber LST's. I added this one to my collection this week. 600 Magnum in Realtree Camo with a black blade.

It was only made in 1992 and 1993. I was living in Oregon at the time and had bought a smaller LST, but always coveted this one in the knife case of the local gun shop. Finally found one in an original box and pulled the trigger. I think I have about a dozen of them now, all varieties and sizes.Clinton, Iowa -
I think we need a dedicated pocket knife thread. I'd be interested in seeing what people EDC or collect...."The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

I don't have anything too interesting but I can post a few pictures when I get home from work this evening and start something.

Do you carry it every day?fishlessman said:Would my Damascus shiv with homemade handle count as an EDC....Clinton, Iowa -
Week night and weekends it's always within a few feet. Also keep a mini freek and swiss army as well as a leech lake fillet and buck akuna, a small carving ax and a few old school knives depending on the day. I keep the Viking ax in the truck, no telling when you need to cut limesLangner91 said:

New windows for the whole house, plus front door. Not yet buying, but will be choosing our contractor within the week. That, and two bathroom renovations commencing tomorrow.
