Not to be too personal, but how small is your wife?   :o
    @Botch
    🙃
5’4” and about 110lbs, depending on the day… But don’t tell her I blabbed!

Guess I didn’t have too many friends with fun cars in high school. A friend had a tricked out Trans Am, but I never got behind the wheel. A friend of his opened the t-top at high speed and the thing shattered on the road. Guess it was enough to dissuade him from letting other friends fool around with it. I was a passenger when he did a burnout in a McD’s parking lot and then got pulled over though. 😂

Most of the neat cars I’ve tried in my life have been owned by people who have very different lifestyles than I do!

Back to the torches.   Trying out the Fenix.  1200 lumens in a tiny unit.    Will see when it gets in.

Next stop will be Benchmade Bugouts to round out the remaining kits/bags.   Damn rabbit holes…or just things that work in general.

…once you pop you can’t stop (that was some commercial for something).

My eyes bugged out at Benchmade's price increases.  Bought a nice Bugout 535 with the grey finished blade and ranger green scales as a Christmas present for a friend.  Went back an looked this week for my daughter and their prices jumped a bunch.

It’s been wild.  I normally go through BladeHQ for mine.   They’ve been somewhat consistent.   I’ve added to cart 2x this week then reneged on the Bailout.   Hard to part with that $ for such a small knife.

And Spyderco has released (announced) their 2023 offerings.  I’m on the list for a Para2.

Oh and I have that specific blade you list.  It’s wonderful.  Honestly my favorite.

I've been eyeing a Protech Malibu knife for the last year or so. I don't think I can trust myself with a $250+ knife or wrap my head around abusing something like that. Such a good looking knife. I like boring knives. The Civivi Elementum 2 just came out within the last week. (It's Chinese but they put out some pretty nice knives given the price point) I'm going to wait until they have a few more scale options but it will most likely be my next knife purchase. It's been hard to find something that is under a 3" blade, has a button lock, flipper tab, no thumb stud, halfway descent steel, and under a Benjamin. I'd love a wharncliffe blade but I've already limited myself enough.

I have the Bugout in Carbon Fiber scales and S90V.  That is probably my favorite EDC.

I also have the Osborne in the same config with carbon and S90V.  Got that on @nolaegghead recommendation.  It is also a fantastic knife, but I prefer the Bugout.

I am currently carrying a Kizer Sheepdog.  It is a fun little knife.  Very durable.

I have to not look at knives.  Just like I cannot look at G-Shocks.

Civvi makes some cool knives.  You definitely have a very specific style of knife you are looking for.  I have never used a button lock, but do like the benchmade axis.  That patent has expired so hopefully will see more options at some reasonable price points.

I have a Bugout too, so light it’s gone unnoticed through the wash.

More for weather related events was the plan.  Just like to have a pack that has a knife, couple flashlights, change of clothes for the family and a medical kit.   It has other sundries as well.

yep I’ve had one of those before.   Ended up selling to a friend.  Reverse of a bugout.  Pretty hefty.  I have a ZT in aluminum that should be light but isn’t so I never carry it.  I should part ways with it.

We've been looking for years.  Criteria: Close to family business but not too close.  More bedrooms.  No projects.  This one popped up in a neighborhood very nearby.  No HOA.  Nobody behind me.  Meh. Its a for now house.  It does have 6 bedrooms and an office space.  Why do they make garages so small now!?  3 stall attached but the yukon xl and excursion will fit by maybe 2 inches.

Maybe 2 years and maybe 10.  I can easily AirBnB the two houses and apartment at the family business and more than pay for this one.  Currently all unoccupied (after I move).

Please tell me it’s a cash deal, rates are wildly high (or you could refi when they turn down).

    Regardless, congrats!!!
Some cash. Will refi if they drop 1/2% or more which is what "they" feel will happen by June-ish.  Also, wife being content outweighs interest.  Market by me is still really hot.  My wife is in Cali right now.  Did the closing all remote.

can't say they won't, but Id be surprised if they do..

Talk around the water cooler states they will hold for 2023 and maybe start a decline in 2024..

I've found a entity which will allow us to buy down 1.5% at inception.

That is almost my exact knife.  Same size and scales.  However my steel is BD1N and no cool blue washer on the pivot pin.

Better stock up on gas ranges, but do not buy any pistol braces.

NOLA, I have a couple of them and they are crap IMO.   The assisted opening works great but their steel is trash (unless you got better steel than mine--which mine are not stamped on the blade so I have no idea what they are).

I had a couple with AUS8 steel and loved them until I lost em.  They weren't the cheap SOGs like I'm buying now.  Scales and pivot were a little loose, but you get spoiled with Benchmade quality.

Also picked up some life straws because I don't have any, some shoes and a 280 watt LED  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09XMCC57T

I think that blue knife is a Bugout knockoff of sorts.  At least I hope so.

Drove the 911 Turbo S owned by my wife’s client the first time I met him. Missed a few shifts and scared the hell out of my wife, who was in the back. No damage to the car. 😁

That blue one has D2 tool steel.  A very serviceable and decent steel for knives.  Not a fancy high dollar steel, oldie' but goodie.  Think it is from the early 20th century.

To be clear, I like D2 for knife steel.  Tough and decent edge retention, but can be hard to sharpen.
