These are cool.   Not sure they are $275 cool tho.

What a coincidence - I just got one of those a couple weeks ago. FenixUSA website had a 20% off sale so I snagged one. It's pretty amazing how well defined a spot it throws. It's not theater stage light tight as there is a bit of "spill". Even at the lowest setting the reflected light from many surfaces at close range (<20') can be rather blinding. Pretty impressive what 500 well placed lumens is capable of.

Note to self: vacuum your damn keyboard more often during dry flaky skin season!

I've had a few Fenix and they are head and shoulders above most brands out there in terms of support and quality.

As far as self-defense goes, that's one effective tool for blinding adversaries.

Doesn't look that bad by eye. Guess the camera does add five to ten pounds - of dry flaky skin in this case.

    Like the depth gauge marks

  • Great for humidors and rooms housing wooden instruments.

I find it steep for a Chinese-made product. That being said, I bought a fairly pricey Chinese-made guitar a few years back - something I didn’t think I would do - because there were no competitors making similar products.

I’ve heard of Japanese Fenders that had good tone.   What did you think of the Chinese guitar?

  • Yes. Lots of good Japanese guitars out there. The Japanese Fenders are good, as is the Tokai brand, which makes great Strat-style guitars. I have a Japanese-made Gretsch White Falcon that is stunningly well-crafted.

The Chinese-made guitar is a Journey OF660. Carbon fibre, full scale length acoustic guitar that breaks into two pieces for travel. Fully TSA compliant for carry-on. Taking it on flights as part of a business trip next month. It’s a really great design. No regrets whatsoever as far as the purchase. Has already served me well on several trips, in addition to me using it a ton at home. Being carbon fibre, it doesn’t need to be housed in my humidified room. Wish I had this thing when I first started playing, or at least when I was studying. The ultimate in portability without much compromise.

Here is a flashlight prototype (100watt LED and a 44mm collimator, along with a controller and serious cooling) that I built.  Hope the woodworkers here aren't jealous.

You need a 3d printer to make a professional looking enclosure.  Looks like a cool project!

Please tell me it’s a cash deal, rates are wildly high (or you could refi when they turn down).

    Regardless, congrats!!!

We've been looking for years.  Criteria: Close to family business but not too close.  More bedrooms.  No projects.  This one popped up in a neighborhood very nearby.  No HOA.  Nobody behind me.  Meh. Its a for now house.  It does have 6 bedrooms and an office space.  Why do they make garages so small now!?  3 stall attached but the yukon xl and excursion will fit by maybe 2 inches.

Maybe 2 years and maybe 10.  I can easily AirBnB the two houses and apartment at the family business and more than pay for this one.  Currently all unoccupied (after I move).

Some cash. Will refi if they drop 1/2% or more which is what "they" feel will happen by June-ish.  Also, wife being content outweighs interest.  Market by me is still really hot.  My wife is in Cali right now.  Did the closing all remote.

@kl8ton very cool!  I agree with you, when an opportunity strikes, you have to jump.  Maybe folks will get back to buying a house because they love it, instead of trying to get rich off it.
