Cool thread - a few years back I went to an exhibit at the Frist Art Museum in Nashville. They had Art Deco inspired automobiles from the 30’s on display. These vehicle s were truly pieces of art. Most had custom bodies made by specialist coach builders. I will post one example here. If this thread continues to have legs, I will post more pics.

Obviously they put a bit more pizazz into that Bugatti design than Elon Musk did with the Cybertruck.

I once owned a Jeep-for around 5 months until solid ice on a country road got me at a high speed of 25 mph. Telephone pole and then the insurance company bought it.
BTW- I have never bought a follow-on make of a previous car (even for SWMBO). At my age I am quite sure it will never happen (longevity of cars works for me).Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. -

Any department that does something like that should be defunded. We get our a$$ handed to us if we scratch our 2010 explorers with a 150k, duct taped interior and spotlights held on with zip ties. I can only imagine what would happen if I even looked at that thing.
The last time I drove marked cars I had sufficient rank to choose from the pool, so I would borrow a Traffic Dept LWB Shogun or the C Class estate that they didn't like. I wasn't and idiot, I made friends with them when I took up post - well I just moved their parking bays marked as 'reserved' and shifted to nearer the back door. Guess who got to go for rides in every new unmarked Evo and other exotica?
In my next post I discovered the force had a 'retained fleet' which were spare cars near the end of service. Lo and behold the command team suddenly acquired a marked 530d estate. I had to do a 'check-drive' with the divisional instructor - they are terse like weapons instructors but less sexist.
One of my proudest moments was completing the check drive to be told; 'you like driving don't you, sir'. Like a mythical coded message permitting me to the inner circle.
But here's the thing, lads - you cant muck about in a marked car ( unless you're working nights )Other girls may try to take me away
But you know, it's by your side I will stay -
Great post, Your topic is so interesting

My Dad is a car lover. He sold his 1932 Ford Roadster (original body) to make room for a 1948 Ford Convertible. The original flathead sure sounds nice!
He had a 1947 Mercury Convertible in High School, so this is very similar. He says the only difference in the two cars is that this one the seat is much closer to the steering wheel!

Often passed by this SQ5 and admired it, but this time I saw a menacing grin from the garage as I walked by - no, not the Corolla.

A car that I feel could do well if done right is a Dodge Magum refresh. Very family friendly, low centre of gravity and available with a Hemi.

If money grew on trees I'd have the 1996 Impala SS lowered an 1", windows tinted, updated wheels (tastefully), cammed, and have the transmission converted to manual. Something similar below but not so "murdered out."
I'm also big fan of the newer Chevrolet SS. A newer version of the mid 90's SS. A 4 door V8 with rwd. (It even came in manual transmission!) It ultimately failed for GM. Another cool car that didn't see much love.
There is a guy a few blocks down from me that has a GNX. It sits outside his garage and never moves. I feel bad for the car. It sees no love. Very cool cars."The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan
