Hi all. Since many of you are considered friends by me and we are all one big dysfunctional family, I would like to share some real talk with you.
Listen. To. Your. Body.
I've been having some issues keeping my breath while doing certain activities for several months which finally led me to a Dr visit on Friday. Blood pressure meds prescribed along with a blood panel and stress test in near future. That was Friday afternoon. Friday evening the Dr calls me and tells me to get to the ER. My blood panel revealed that my hemoglobin was severely low at 5.3. He wasn't even sure how I was functioning.
So swmbo and I headed to the ER where they gave me two units of blood and admitted me after my levels only climbed marginally. I've been admitted since but finally have some answers after a couple days of testing. They found a ”what is believed to be ” malignant tumor on my colon today. It appears to be confined to the colon and not spread to the lymph nodes but that's not 100% certain at this point.
40 years old. No family history of colon cancer. Generally healthy across the board on all the labs and test.
So the point of this? Listen to your body. If something doesn't seem right, go get checked out. As for me? No worries here. I'm going to kick colon cancers asz.
Deuce's brothers and sisters. Love ya all. Even you aszholes 😄

It is good that they found it before it spread. Hopefully the location is good for surgery.

Wow. Glad they caught it. I was feeling bad, went in for a physical and my doctor told me I'd be dead within a year unless I quit drinking. So I quit. Feeling much better but it isn't easy kicking a 37 year old habit. Living like a rock star ain't healthy.______________________________________________I love lamp..

Solid advice and kick that cancer’s ass.. no pun intended.About 20 years ago I lost an aunt to colon cancer and she was only 42. My mother in law passed away a few months ago from endometriosis, less than a month from diagnosis to her passing. Both of them caught it too late.I get a yearly physical, see my rheumatologist every 4 months with blood panels done, and get my skin checked 3 times a year. Due to COVID my physical keeps getting pushed back but when I finally go in I am going to ask for a colonoscopy referral. I may be 39 but my family needs me and I just want to stay on top of this stuff.Thank you for posting and stay positive.

Cancer sucks. Incredibly tough time you are going through but you have the right attitude about it. Best wishes on your fight, you will overcome.

I appreciate the kind words. There's only one possible outcome here and I'm as stubborn as a mule. Thanks for the support~ John - Formerly known as ColtsFan - https://www.instagram.com/hoosier_egger

Glad they caught it and hope for a short treatment and recovery. Your hemoglobin and ER trip is eerily similar to my mother in law that had a colon tumor removed in December with a good outcome. She had walked around with abdominal pain for a couple months, like you said, don’t wait.
