Yeah they discussed their options but with all the uncertainty surrounding the situation they decided to get married in a very small fashion and push off the big party to the one year anniversary. It was actually quite nice. It was a process coming to grips that it just wasn’t gonna go off as planned. They will have a great story to tell though.Ozzie_Isaac said:@pgprescott glad you were able to do something this year! Setup looks really niceThanks -
Filet mignon from a local butcher with sides. I had to rush the rosemary crusted potatoes cause Mrs. B was hungry.

Some breasts and thighs with jerk seasoning...
Had this Croton for about 6 years, first time ever bloomed...
Maybe transplanting into LBGE back several weeks ago is reason...

@pgprescott echoing the above. Way to do the best given the circumstances. I'm sure the appreciation for your family's efforts will only grow with time. Had some pizza tonight. My basil is finally growing well. I added about 8% spelt and 10% whole wheat to the dough. I liked that.

I was cooking some chicken Thursday night and the bolts connecting the hinge to the band on one side snapped and had to abort cooking. Could have replaced the bolts I guess but the old band style was a PITA and alignment sucked so got a new style kit on today and the best alignment I’ve had since new.

Just some salmon on a plank to go with honey sriracha brocolli

The baby backs turned out great. I added boysenberry syrup and a little honey to some bbq sauce and it was a hit.

Most small transaction places like this here have stopped taking cash. The contactless payment limit is up to £45, so tap the car and no need for touching keypads or cash / change.WeberWho said:We stopped at Nelson's Ice Cream when picking up some 00 flour in St. Paul this afternoon. We've only been to the @StillH2OEgger (Stillwater) location. They are known for their ice cream serving sizes. This is their single smallest kid serving size. (Stock photo below as ours were melting)
After waiting in line starting outside the store we get up to the counter to pay. I hear, "I'm sorry we only accept cash" when trying to hand them my card. I walk out to the car to see what I can come up with in cash or go drive to the closest ATM. As I turn around from the car to go let my wife know we're a few bucks short and that I'd run to the ATM, I see her walking out with ice cream. The lady behind us apparently paid for them. My wife tried to get some info from her to pay back the $8.50 we owed her. She said absolutely not and that it was only a couple dollars. We had $6 in cash to give her but she was long gone in the matter of seconds.
I think we've all heard so much negative noise coming from Minnesota lately that I thought I'd share something positive. Now I will pay it forward with someone else! -
It's pretty rare around here to find places that are cash only. I hardly ever have cash on me. I keep a spare $20 bill in my truck for times like this. Except we drove my wifes vehicle yesterday.Eoin said:

I wish the business would have had a sign posted somewhere saying cash transaction only. That would have been helpful. At least some print mentioning it on the door or something. Nelson's only let 5 people into the store at a time. There was a family ahead of us. So we couldn't enter until they came out. So we didn't have much time to look around when walking in. I asked my wife if she saw any sign saying cash only. She obviously didn't see one either.
I hate not being prepared. Especially with a line of people behind you. The lovely lady behind us really helped us out of a pinch yesterday. I really wish I knew who she was. My wife had tears in her eyes that someone was so generous. So it's our turn to help someone else out now.

A lot of the places around here stopped taking cash as well, but a few of the small "mom and pop" places are only taking it because they are trying to recoup some of their loses. By skipping the 3% transaction fee for credit cards they can get back in the black quicker.WeberWho said:

The only place I've been in that didn't take cash is Pike Nursery. It got me worried so last trip to Costco I asked the guy at the door if they still accept cash and he laughed and said "of course!" like it was the dumbest thing he'd heard all day.

It’s all meat not just pork. SRF Briskets start at like $200 now. That’s too d@mn rich for my blood unless it’s a super special occasion. They were about $130 back in January and even then I had to bite my lip and press order submit. In February I bought a 12lb pork butt for $18, now that same one is $40SonVolt said:2 Pork Butts costs me $84 at Publix over the weekend. In SRF defense their black start at $209 because all they have left is the 20+ pounders. I ordered (2) 14-16 pounders at $149/each (before the discount).TEXASBGE2018 said:

Dammit. I've been diving down the fermented sausage rabbit-hole and the main ingredient is pork. Could I have found a worse time to get into pork sausage? Probably not.______________________________________________I love lamp..
