    About twenty minutes ago I was walking my dog . We were about 2 and a half blocks from my house. Across the street I saw a woman in purple scrubs sitting in a chair facing a glass storm door. She was talking loudly, maybe on a cell and maybe just to be heard through the door and apparently to her mom. 
    She asked questions about how her mom was doing, nursing type questions. Then she said “Mom I’ve got bad news. I went to work today and I had a cough. They took my temp and it read 99. They told me to go see my doctor and to go home. I called the doctor (couldn’t hear) $300.00. I finally got my dog to move along. 
    I may be mistaken butI think that is a nurse that walks past my house on the way to work at the hospital every day. It is possible that she lived with her elderly mom taking care of her. Now she might be homeless in order to not infect a parent that she was caring for. 
    Just something to think about.

    If we are footing the bill work for us not against us. Only the Trump haters would somehow spin it as him being mean for cutting the funding to the WHO for helping China cover it up. This virus has killed 135k people and counting but no one gives a damn about the origin. 
    So if there had been earlier information about the origin of the virus your argument is that Trumpster fire would then have foregone all of his downplaying, calling it a hoax and somehow we would miraculously, like the virus disappearing in April with warm weather,  be somewhere different than where we are now?

    I find it refreshing that Bill and Melinda's foundation hasn't been fined $2 million and forced to close up shop because of malfeasance (plus I'm sure Gates University is doing fine). Has Trump done even one thing in his entire life that was for the purpose of helping someone other than himself, his donors, his porn stars, or his friends and immediate family?

    You know, your post makes me wonder, did Trump release the virus?

    Seems like the crisis is creating more opportunity for him than for anyone else.  Sure, the economy is cratered, but if he brings it back won't that look good right before the election?  

    It's the only way a staunch GOPer like him could get away with a few trillion dollars of socialist handouts and running the deficit through the roof.  Can you imagine if Bernie had been President and suggested giving away $6 Trillion dollars?  Wow.

    Yup, just about had to be Trump.

He did shut down flights from the UK and Europe in Early March. He tried earlier but the news and the House called him racist and xenophobic and otherwise ignored him as they had another priority. Nancy Pelosi said that there was no reason to close down the Moon Festival or St. Paddies Day in New York. The mayor of New Orleans saw no reason to shut down St. Paddies or Mardi Gras .

    The notion that Trump would have done lots of things to address the virus and much earlier were it not for the Democrats stopping him is... well, interesting.

    I agree with you, but if I am not mistaken, the mayor of New Orleans shut down the St. Patrick's Day parade, but not a Ball the same weekend that she is involved with, maybe someone from there can clarify.

    I'm pretty sure the stuff about Pelosi was posted back on like page 11 of this thread.  

    The real issue is the lack of testing and ramping that up in time.  Adequate testing would have allowed us to have eyes on this virus as it was beginning to show up.
