Rihanna donates $5 million. That’s “fo real” money from a celebrity. Kudos to her.

This is a great thread. Very few of us have seen anything like this, and how we handle something like this is not automatic for everyone. I am 59, and each day brings another level of "wow, I've never had to think like this before." The stress is real for a lot of people, and you can feel it in the air every day.
But I believe good comes out of everything so:
• Change of perspective is always good. People are looking at things a whole different way now, and working together surprisingly well.
• Families are spending more time together.
• More yard work and outdoor activity is getting done
• And finally, a lot of people are out cooking on their EGGs. Guy who came in the store today was upset about DizzyFest being canceled, but said he has had the extra time to perfect is Bloody Mary Scotch Egg recipe. People cookin' a lot more at home. We're sure selling a lot of charcoal.
Whatever life is dealing yall, stay strong. We got this.

We are having dinner at the table for all meals, and spending lots of quality time together. My neighbor got walkie talkies and my son and his are talking all day on them.

Yntte and I took our grand-dog out for a walk in a nice little neighborhood. Someone (I am assuming some young folks living nearby) had gone around and chalked uplifting messages every few feet, and added some simple artwork. Nice change to the graffiti that is so prevalent in modern times.XL BGE in San Jose, CA. Also a Pit Barrel Cooker, a Cal Flame P4 gasser, and lots of toys including the first ever Flame Boss 300 in the wild. And a new Flame Boss 500.

My older sister retired from nursing a couple of years ago. She owns and runs a fabric store that specializes in quilting, teaching lessons about quilting or sewing, selling and repairing high end sewing machines etc.
Half a dozen of her customers got together at her store and started sewing face masks that they donate to people in the medical or personal car fields. She lets them use her store and equipment and knowing her probably donates most of the fabric. They may not be N95 rated but they can be sterilized and reused and a heck of a lot better than nothing. -

Just took a walk with the fam and noticed that a lot of houses had been adorned with rainbows bearing messages reading “we will get through this” in the windows.
-
I have never seen so many people out walking and riding their bikes. Must have had 40 people go by this weekend when I was doing yard work and we live in a cul de sac with only like 10 houses on the road so many more people actually out. Also a neighbors wife has been doing different things for the parents. She set up a couple scavenger hunts around the hood with the hunt lists on the neighborhood Facebook page. They also had this in front of their house a couple days ago.

The opportunity to study man-kinds impact on environmental pollution seems pretty interesting to me. Particularly air quality and water quality impacts. I saw some amazing video of a rebound in water quality in Venice's canals and heard last week that NYC air pollution was down nearly 50%.South Central Kansas

Teachers are the backbone of civilization. Don't know why I haven't said this before, but thank YOU and your ilk for your service, for all that you have done, and continue to do.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -
@caliking Thank you. You know, you folks in health care do it because you care about people. We teach because we care about kids. Folks like @lousubcap serve because they love their country. @Battleborn serves because he cares. We all are doing what we can. Maybe that’s the good that will come from all of this - folks will remember that people matter. Relationships matter. Supporting each other when times are tough - that’s how society survives. I’m an eternal optimist.(Not excluding all the others out there that have employees and are doing all they can to make sure the paychecks keep coming in for them. There are a ton of good people in this community working hard.)Coleman, Texas

Guy I go to church with that manages a local store that is a gas station, restaurant (legit good food), and catering business spent most of last week negotiating with the owners and employees to figure out a schedule and other sales route that would keep all employees with no layoffs. This meant reduced hours and cut pay for all, but they are all still employed and making enough to make ends meet. This guy does not have a glamorous job and generally under appreciated, but his dedication to caring for his employees was just heartwarming.

A simple thing, but it sure made me smile to see both puppies, and penguins, roaming through empty aquariums, and seeing the curiosity on both sides of the glass.___________

I’ve never seen more people out riding bikes and walking dogs with their kids. We live next to a park and it’s sun up to sun down. Not gathered, not crowded or doing what they’re not supposed to do, but just constant flow. It’s very cool to see.Not a felon
