Why would the below OT thread about buying a car get the sunk treatment?
I'm sure all of us who are here at the privilege of The Buffalo would appreciate some guidance to ensure The Buffalo roams in a happy place.  Pedestrians like me don't have a boundary clue thus we may cross (as above) without any idea how we screwed it up.  And it's not even Friday Eve.

Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

I have no idea , I'm curios as well, there is nothing wrong with that threadI had my first thread deleted all together , was civil but I assume because it was political.

I suppose OT still has to be food, allbeit " non BGE" related

The Buffalo might live in his parent's basement and drive a '92 Chrysler minivan which could cause a little Audi envy.

Also - in before it gets buffaloed.

The moderation here is ridiculously inconsistent and a sign of the continued loss in market share by the BGE.  It's shameful and makes me want to be here far less often.  SMH.

That thread didn't get sunk, it got buffaloed. Seems there was some cleansing in the early morning hours.

I’m still befuddled by the threads about restaurant recommendations that were sunk a while back.  Silly stuff  if you ask me.

I’ll bet the participants on this site sell more eggs than any single dealer.  I sold one tonight talking to a friend at a bar.  Meeting him tomorrow to go to a local dealer and get him set up.

Only saying this to say we (humbly said as I am fairly new here) might get a little latitude for the goodwill we create.

    Oh well

I wonder if the sink and delete buttons are similar to the off topic and disagree buttons: easy to accidentally click whike scrolling on a touch screen.  Maybe the buffalo is randomly and accidentally sinking threads from his iphone.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

A favorite target of the buffalo is any threads that speculate on why he sinks/blasts threads.   Yeah, it can be the people (some more troll-y than others, certainly) or the subject or his mood.  Whatever.  That happens and this ain't no democracy.

Pro tip: If you post something like this, it will get buffaloed:

Hey, anyone going to the Trump Rally in that Kalvern in Baton Rouge?  Would love to meet up with some fellow white nationalists!  TRUE patriots are the silent majority and we'll talk about white genocide and succession!!!  God is on our side and LBGT people are on Satan's side!!!

    Or this:

98% of scientists agree the climate change we have been seeing trend has a significant causal component from human activity that, if not mitigated, may cause significant political global disruption.  Here are links to the most prominent scientific organizations with laureate scientists....

    That should do it. ;)

The default is to show all forums.  But you can click on the EggHead Forum link on the right and you won't see any of the threads that have been filed under "Off Topic".

OT has never worked. As I understand it (it was before my time), a separate OT forum came about on the old forum because some guys got their shorts in a bunch whenever anyone posted anything not directly related to BGE cooking. They whined about it enough that an OT section was created. Didn't work very well, people just put "OT" in the title and posted in the main Egghead forum. Can you imagine?!

When BGE dumped the original forum in favor of this one, they just included an OT section. Because, well, it was there before. Doesn't work any better here than it did there.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

JIC just pointed this out, its crazy this place works this way

https://eggheadforum.com/      is in default mode showing all the sub forums as well as the eggheadforum

https://eggheadforum.com/categories/egghead-forum             this is the actual link in the right hand column that only shows the egghead forum without the other forum posts

It appears, according to the Forum Use Guidelines, that that post was not about enjoying your egg:

    From Forum Use and Guidelines:

"This forum is about food, cooking, having fun with your EGG and similar topics ... please don’t post links or images or create posts that are irrelevant for the purpose of this forum, which includes insulting, offensive, racist, sexist, political, discriminatory, obscene or vulgar remarks or any post which may be found to be in violation of any law or ordinance. This includes posts on topics which have nothing to do with enjoying a Big Green Egg, or which are polarizing or inflammatory in nature. If you do any of this, we will of course delete the post and call upon the Buffalo to determine the extent of your suspension or permanent ban. "

Make sure you include a picture of your egg with a smiling face showing you're having fun with your egg while you buy a car or fix your roof!!

Of course the Use and Guidelines also states:

"About Photos: The system will not accept photos or images larger than 2MB. While the system will resize an image to fit, please try to limit the size of images to less than 1MB. Only JPG, PNG or GIF files."

Remember the image resizing discussions?  Hmmm....

First time I have read the guidelines... interesting stuff in there!! B)
