A favorite target of the buffalo is any threads that speculate on why he sinks/blasts threads.   Yeah, it can be the people (some more troll-y than others, certainly) or the subject or his mood.  Whatever.  That happens and this ain't no democracy.

Pro tip: If you post something like this, it will get buffaloed:

Hey, anyone going to the Trump Rally in that Kalvern in Baton Rouge?  Would love to meet up with some fellow white nationalists!  TRUE patriots are the silent majority and we'll talk about white genocide and succession!!!  God is on our side and LBGT people are on Satan's side!!!

    Or this:

98% of scientists agree the climate change we have been seeing trend has a significant causal component from human activity that, if not mitigated, may cause significant political global disruption.  Here are links to the most prominent scientific organizations with laureate scientists....

    That should do it. ;)
    What time is the Rally?

It appears, according to the Forum Use Guidelines, that that post was not about enjoying your egg:

    From Forum Use and Guidelines:

"This forum is about food, cooking, having fun with your EGG and similar topics ... please don’t post links or images or create posts that are irrelevant for the purpose of this forum, which includes insulting, offensive, racist, sexist, political, discriminatory, obscene or vulgar remarks or any post which may be found to be in violation of any law or ordinance. This includes posts on topics which have nothing to do with enjoying a Big Green Egg, or which are polarizing or inflammatory in nature. If you do any of this, we will of course delete the post and call upon the Buffalo to determine the extent of your suspension or permanent ban. "

Make sure you include a picture of your egg with a smiling face showing you're having fun with your egg while you buy a car or fix your roof!!

Of course the Use and Guidelines also states:

"About Photos: The system will not accept photos or images larger than 2MB. While the system will resize an image to fit, please try to limit the size of images to less than 1MB. Only JPG, PNG or GIF files."

Remember the image resizing discussions?  Hmmm....

First time I have read the guidelines... interesting stuff in there!! B)
I’d have to leave out of boredom.

I just got home from the IP Casino. I went placed a couple of bets now that we have legal sports betting. Nothing big. Just enough to make it interesting.

I have been for anything that moved the health-care industry off bottom dead-center.  And that included supporting Obama Care as I figured any movement would lead to improvements in the system.
Of course the fact that about 1/3 of the population is on a government payer system (Medicare and the VA) is not published.  The industries involved with the other 2/3's, read health care and insurance have so much clout that it won't happen any time soon.  Just hoping to create turmoil and thus insights that lead to overall improved access, timeliness (or no loss), cost control and the reduction in the trial lawyers greed grab for all thing medical. Of course the greed grab leads to the outlandish insurance coverage needed to be carried by the docs (@bgebrent) so that everyone in the game gets their share.
Yes it is broken but I doubt it will get fixed in my children's life-time.  Off soap-box.

In benchmark measurements of outcomes among first world countries, the majority of which have universal health care in some form, variation or another, we have the worst performance in terms of gross money spent, per-capita spent and outcome.

I'm not trying to say we don't also have some of the best care in the world either, but we can do better.

We also fund fundamental pharma research that is pretty much not done elsewhere.

    That's a gross exaggeration.

"Although the US produces about 22% of the global GDP and accounts for 4% of the world's population, it accounts for 44% of global biomedical R&D expenditures and its domestic pharmaceutical market about 40% of the global market."

Since we account for 44% of global biomedical R&D, 66% is done elsewhere,  you can't accurately say by a long shot it is not done elsewhere.  Can't even say we do most of all of it.

Since we're politically making our country inhospitable to foreigners, I would expect the number of researchers in this area in the US, which are international, to not increase our total share of world R&D, at least not on US soil.

Both India and China will probably be kicking a$$ in this research not too far down the road.

US Pharma's do a significant amount of R&D overseas. I will readily admit I am not an expert in this subject, and will gladly defer to those that are.

If you look at the big pharma research companies, they are HQ'd in many different countries.  They all have research labs all over the world.  In fact, Roche and Sanofi, number 2 and 3 in size, are Swiss and French, respectively.
