We need to make public colleges free to students who qualify by funding them enough and making them more efficient with more online options.   Private schools can keep doing whatever they want.  Countries that do this have a more educated work force (and electorate).

Local high schools in my area are adopting what they call the “Academy model”, where after 9th grade families can make a decision on whether their child wants to pursue academic or career focused pursuits after high school.

Based on their choices, the child’s electives are essentially chosen by the program. If they pick an academic option, they focus electives on either stem or liberal art areas of study (with the path being chosen by the families).  Or if they choose a vocational route, they still meet the minimum requirements of a high school diploma but graduate with a certification that can yield them (hopefully) gainful employment in fields such as welding, culinary arts or hospitality.

Since each student will be a bona fide graduate, they can still switch later on, but may be more or less appealing to certain universities based on their areas of study.

We've yet to have a round of students graduate from the program, but our region is optimistic that it will give kids a ladder to success out of high school.
That educational model is very pragmatic and has been used in Europe for generations.  It's new to us, but has been refined on the other side of the pond.
We stopped doing this and went down the route of trying to shoehorn the majority into going to university.

Here's a thought Milktoast,  don't drag your kids into an unsustainable ****storm and expect things to go peachy...apply for citizenship and immigrate legally. Try pulling the same stunt in Mexico and see how that works out.

Of course you love it, London is so far down the toilet that you can't even see the light from above.

Perhaps I'm feeling a bit froggy today since it is so very near the 242nd anniversary of telling you Brits to get off our damn lawn.

=)  (is this what it feels like to be a instigating liberal troll?)
LOL! Amused that you think I'd be internally wounded if you insulted London.

Yes they were. The southern Democrat was quite racist, then they were chased by the liberal side of the party and they then became Republicans and continued their racist ways.

All this talk of racism is making me uncomfortable.

I hope you didn't hurt yourself with those backflips there.  Quite delusional, sir.  Democrats and in particular liberal democrats engage in identity politics which is racist.  People are not individuals, but members of groups.  White, Black, Asian, Latino, Christian, Jew, Muslim...etc.

Case in point, recently a feminist tweeted her confusion as to why a black man would have a NRA and a Tea Party sticker on his car.  She explained her confusion that she didn't know why the man would support organizations against his best interests.  I wasn't aware the 2nd amendment and Tea Party principles of living within your own means were against this man's interests.

Why *anyone* should give a sh!t about that story is beyond me man.   You are being fed outrage porn.  Learn to recognize it for what it is and ignore rather than disseminate.

Headline news? You mean Right Wing News.

I love that Right Wing News website. It's like the National Enquirer of politics.

RWN tells me that Barack Obama is leading a coup! Typical that the lamestream media and the Deep State is keeping that from us.

Thanks for turning me on to Right Wing News - https://rwnofficial.com/ .  I look forward to reading that site a few times each week. Tho I will have to remember that it's not actually The Onion (or is it?).

Haven't read the whole thread and I won't....but still amazed at how some are confounded and confused at why Trump got elected.  It's really simple.

Although ideologues will never get it.......and is kind of the reason.  Irony.
