Thinking this might be making its way onto a street in London:

That's why he's avoiding London, visiting Windsor and Chequers. Windsor is small enough to keep a lid on any protests and Chequers is in the middle of nowhere, can copter in and out.

    Nice to see y'all care.
I would imagine London politics are quite different from the rest of the UK.

I couldn't say how the view of Trump varies across the UK. Probably a bit cross party like Brexit. I can't say I know many people who think highly of Trump, we just hear his pronouncements and tweets and wonder WTF he's on about. Remembering that us Europeans are generally a bunch of lefty liberals.

Also, it's totally different to look at someone without any party affiliation and without the 'Clinton would have been worse' viewpoint that you guys may have.

It's friday so why not. Attention liberals, What is the end game if "liberals" have their Utopia?

Is it that we all get free everything and everyone can marry anything or anyone they want? That racism, bigotry, sexism somehow cease to exist? That "white privilege" suddenly turns to "colored privilege"? What is the honest desired end game? People on the extreme left and right are always whining about the other side. Lewis Black says it best: "Democrat or Republican, American Politics is a bowl of sh*t staring back at itself in the mirror" Please explain liberal utopia to this confused Libertarian....

Being socially liberal doesn't mean free stuff for everyone, you are confusing the use of the word here in Europe with your own definition.

Anyone can marry anyone? Why not, if that's their thing. As a libertarian you should support peoples' freedom to choose to do what they want.

I'm a Democrat. I'm not sure what a "liberal" is. At least these days where it seems to be used as an insult.

There is no "utopia" that I'm looking for or am aware of.

I don't want "free everything". For example Bernie's free college is a bad idea. I don't want to pay for other people's kids to go to college so they can work at Starbucks. I would be in favor of free Trade Schools. Or at least some assistance to help pay for it. We need more skilled tradesfolk, not Business Majors.

People...that's PEOPLE should be able to marry whomever they choose. I'm not aware of people wanting to marry a thing, at least not in large numbers.

Don't understand the "white privilege" remarks so can't comment.

And Lewis Black is funny as hell.

From my libertarian viewpoint the government should be out of the marriage business all together.  They suck at everything so lets keep their grubby mitts off of as much as possible.

Thank you for stating my viewpoint as well.

Your assuming I don't support that. In fact I do. I have a gay brother. I love him dearly, he's my brother. I don't necessarily agree with the term marriage given that its a religious term. But I fully support my brother and his partner being able to have the same access to all legal benefits that marriage provides. In my opinion the government should stay out of marriage again given that its a religious thing. I don't care what you do in your bedroom as long as you don't try to force me, my wife or kids to join you.

Again, I'm just listing some things I've heard others say. I'm asking the questions because I want to know. There has to be an end game for a political viewpoint so what is the liberal side. I'm well aware of the conservative side. I use liberal as a term not an insult. My brother is a liberal. I don't call him a liberal to insult him. He made fun of Ted Cruz the other day on the 4th of July and I laughed along with him because what he said was true and funny.

Maybe provide answers to my questions so I can better understand your point of view. Maybe provide the same response that you provided to me to the others on here that posted things. I would define a liberal as someone willing to sacrifice individual freedom for the sake of equality and fairness.

A liberal as I understand it is someone who wants increased government regulation and increased government participation in the private lives of others. Someone who wants the government making decisions for people instead of them making decisions for themselves. Someone who discards traditional values. Someone who feels taxing people more to pay for the lack of effort of others is fine. Someone who feels a countries border is fluid and should be open to everyone and anyone to "better society". Someone who feels the Constitution is a living and breathing document that should be changed on the whim of what's trendy at the moment rather than appreciating it for what it is and interpreting it the way it was originally written. There also seems to be a very prominent "mob rule" mentality with people who are "liberal".  Are those enough examples?

How about a bit of dictionary action to clarify the word, rather than the general political use of that word in the US.

Again, I didn't intend for it to be trolly. I just get so sick of people complain about Trump, or "Trumptards" but when you ask them for their opinion of what they would like to see it almost always resorts to them throwing it back at you instead of providing ideas to discuss. That's one of the reasons I like @JohnInCarolina so much because at least when he argues he does it in a fun way and actually can back up his statements with information.

Then define "liberal" as you understand it.

    Wow.

How about a bit of dictionary action to clarify the word, rather than the general political use of that word in the US.

Fair enough. If I changed the word liberal to "socialist" would that be better? I agree that the word liberal is different in other places. dmchicago said earlier, most of the time its used as an insult. I didn't intend it that way. I honestly do want to understand that way of thinking. Because using logic I don't see any way that it ends well. We have enough current examples and historic examples that prove that being a "socialist" country will end in disaster. I simply want to know why people get so mad at Trump. I agree his way of expressing his opinion is not the most subtle but what exactly has he done (Done being the key word there) that is sooo unbelievably atrocious that people feel its appropriate to call him the next Hitler. Hitler, who ordered the extermination of millions of Jews. What has Trump actually done that would suggest he's heading down that path. And again, what would be the socialist end game??
