Paella. Specifically, this 21 meter paella:

I’ve had two incidents where people asked me to cook fried chicken for their last meal if they were ever on death row.
That has to be good fried chicken.

A huge Porterhouse, Medium Rare. French onion soup using Asiago crusted french bread, smothered in provolone , wedge salad with tomatoes bacon and blue cheese,  sided with crispy hash browns with caramelized onions.
The wine would be a '93 red blend from the southern Rhone.
Should I survive that, I would have a slice of My Beautiful Wife's Apple Pie....
Then, just a two finger pour of a Basil Hayden blend.
I would help with the dishes.

Our penitentiary says that they can have whatever is in the pantry or freezer on site. No beluga caviar flown in from Russia etc.
@Gulfcoastguy And how do you know this?
I read the newspaper every day.
I actually had the opportunity to visit Florida state prison (which is the only “prison” in Florida, the others are “correctional institutions” which always surprises people)

I took a tour with a guy who’s title was “death watch commander”... no, seriously. He was in charge of death row and he sits with inmates the night before execution. Said he’s been asked to share many last meals. I asked him some notable ones and he said one guy asked for a slab of ribs and a gallon of ice cream.

but to your point, yes, he said they use to order anything you wanted. But now it’s cooked with a menu basically.

    I would guess it depends...
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

You’re a couple of centuries late to the party, pal.

I'd eat something from one of our collective farmed pigs.  And I'd wash it down with a bottle of Allagash Curieaux smuggled in to the prison by @20stone, or @caliking, or @The Cen-Tex Smoker.

I would love the look on the guards face when you gave him that order.

Um, so we have American cheese, onions, bagged salad mix, and chuck steak.  We might be able to scare up some wine from the chapel.  I think its purple.  Will that work?

I’d say asparagus.  That way, once I pee my pants, everyone will smell it.
