    $147 on Walmart website today.
I pulled up the Walmart website and made the 1500 Market Place Blvd., Cumming GA Walmart my local store, and it showed the Akorn Jr. at $91 and then brickseek shows they have two in stock at $74, so if you are wanting one, they might still have them if you hurry.
Thanks man. Was looking for a buddy of mine and was disappointed when I saw it.

Although many are snatching them up, it's mostly internet BBQ nerds. The brickseek stock at all of the Walmarts in my area has gone down only by one in the last week since I bought mine (and that was due to my purchase).

I didn't even have an egg when I joined this forum a month ago.  In those 4 weeks y'all have convinced me not only to buy and egg but a bunch of accessories for it, but I also have now bought this to qualm my addiction.  I think I'm going to like it here

Ordered one yesterday from Walmart & was suppose to be ready for pickup.  I received email today they're canceling my order cause they don't know when they will have in stock so I ordered from Amazon.   Placed another order from Walmart and it says processing so one way or another I will have a Little Red Akorn or two.
Well this time Walmart processed the order so I have one to pick up and one shipping from Amazon.  I have a good friend that will be having the big 60 Birthday Bash next month so looks like he's getting an Akorn Jr too along with this truck wrap he wanted.  Gonna be a blast...I'm bringing some of @YukonRon world famous Bourbon Slushies.

Mine showed up yesterday. Haven't had time to do anything more than sit it in the carport. My oldest son calls the small green egg his so this one's gonna be my 6 year olds. He has taken a recent interest in cooking.

Heck my oldest has gotten to where he adjusts the vents on my large for me when the temps not right.

Super happy with this grab and grill rig for a buck thirty.  Pie tins are perfect, chuck when done.

You need a cover whether or not you travel with it. It leaks when it rains and the ash catcher fills with water. You can get thru a cook as it doesn't get the lump wet, but the ashes get soaked and that will speed up the rusting process. It even gets in between the inner and outer shells of the ash pan. You can our it out, but I'd rather it didn't get in there in the first place.

Even if you buy a cover, It's still gonna leak if you cook in the rain.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I like that cover. Funny that BGE & KJ leave all that money on the table by not offering one.

Thanks, I agree.  For a portable tabletop grill, a cover comes in handy when exposed in the elements.  Most of us have cover at home.
The Smokeware Cap for the small was a nice upgrade in this regard IMO.  It's usually parked on the tailgate, or picnic table.

KJ sells covers for most of their models. BGE sells covers for all their models in a nest.

Dang, I'd love to have a decent tailgater grill/smoker.  Looks like 4 in stock at $91, then the Brickseeker says $74, but you click it and it goes back to $91.  Just have to go and see what's up.  Would be good for the Fall NASCAR race tailgate.

No official KJ Jr. cover - as I said, they sell covers for most (2 out of 3) of their models.

I never cover my KJ Jr. anyway.

I was glad to pay Amazon $91 to deliver it to my door if only so I wouldn't have to actually go into a Walmart.

Exactly. Its worth 17 bucks to not drive to walmart and have to stand in line and checkout and drive back home. Closest walmart to me is 30 minutes. I love amazon.

My stone and cover arrived. Stone is nice, cover feels kinda chintzy but it'll do the job for now.

Fired it up last night for the first time to do the "burn off" as they suggest. Didn't pay close attention to it and let the temps zoom to 700°+. Ooops. Firebox didn't crack tho. :)

Was in and out in 5 min after work,  location on the way home.  No line.  Walmart is like walking the woods, you never know what you'll run across.  I'm going all-in on weldless gauges, therms, valves, burners, contemplating a kegerator, on a 3 tier all grain setup because I bought a couple kettles for cheap....not to mention the people of Walmart. Lol

Heavy's post has cost me dearly in the long haul.

Chintzy cover? HAHAHA, mine is a black trash bag cut down to size! =) For now.

Aluminum foil over the top vent and latch the lid and you should be rain proof enough...

Apparently not. If I understand correctly the problem is water running down the sides of the cooker and then getting into the ash pan at its connection point to the base.

Tomorrow when I water my herb garden maybe I'll direct my spray wand over the Akorn for a while and see just how much water gets into the ash pan. I'll try to remember to remove the cover first if I do that. :)

You're right, thinking about how it's constructed, the bottom hemisphere inner and outer shells are just riveted together and the gasket is on the top hemisphere.
