To international experts?  Always.  They're not idiots.
How's that working for them?  Let's ask the dead folks.
Yeah tons of terror activities being conducted by internationally acclaimed scientists, obviously.
Building bombs is science, dammit!  The non-scientists blow themselves up during construction.
For sure it requires some skill and expertise, but what you won't find are people with h-indices above zero spending time playing with C4.

Imma put this in my shirt thread.
  • It's obvious there's two schools of thought here.  Those that want public $ to subsidize green energy and those that don't.  IMO, it must be feasible to stand on its own without a pipeline of federal $ propping it up.  Emotional appeals to save the planet through green energy means the proponents of green energy can't make it work economically.  Done tussling with you fellas.
Thankfully, we did invest public $ in the technology, and it is working out economically.  That's why the renewable energy sector and jobs are taking off.

Thanks for your incredibly informed contributions to the discussion, as always, Fred.
Yeah, you're right John-Boy.  Government rebates, tax credits and other incentives don't mean jack squat!  Of course the economics work when the government subsidizes it.   Your grasp of economics is stellar.

You said you were "done tussling" Fred.  You do this all the time, by the way.  You declare that you're done and then drop back in.  So, which is it this time?  Are you still discussing or are you done tussling?
Quit tasking me, John.  When the "last word" is you praising government subsidies as successful economics, how can I let that stand?
Which energy sectors aren't subsidized by the government Fred? Are they all unsuccessful?

What about your place of work?  Are you unsuccessful because your life is government subsidized?

If your definition of success in this space is being free of government subsidy, then we're discussing ideology and not economics.
Equating the success of my life to the success of an economic system seems in-congruent, no?  Is Dook a public university?  If so, are you just as unsuccessful as me?

I suppose it's true the gubmint gives away money to companies in many methods of energy.  Does this mean I'll get a check the next time I buy lump?  I don't recall receiving a tax credit or rebate the last time I filled up at the gas station, bought propane or lump.

Duke is a private University there champ.

Government subsidies take a variety of different forms, not all of which are provided directly to the consumer.

That vote looks smarter every week, doesn't it?
From where I'm sitting it certainly does. I have made more money in the first 5 months of this year than I made all year long in the previous 8 years.
I know that some num whit will say "it's because of Obingo s polices carried over". Well it's mighty funny to me that 8 years of his bullcrap about starved me to death and the minute that Trump took over money started rolling in like rain from heaven.
There is simply no denying a working man prospers under conservatives and suffers under liberals.
So to answer the question directly, yeah my vote for Trump was the greatest thing that I have ever done with the single exception being my vote for Reagan. Trump is a God in the making. Reagan was a God.

John, that's the beauty of it. You have to keep in mind that Honest Donald is an absolute genius. His intelligence level far, far exceeds that of most.
I'm sure that his intelligence level far far exceeded that of the people who voted for him, I'll give you that.
Yeah all the smart people voted for the crook.
That vote looks smarter every week, doesn't it?
Not a chance. I'll take an bumbling moron over a crook any day.

He is smart in every way imaginable. We haven't seen anyone with Trumps intelligence ever. Einstein wished that he had just half the brain power that Trump has.

Wow! People getting news from a BBQ Forum. Now that's rich!  The Party of LOVE sure harbors a lot of hate. It's obviously the party of the Hollywood elitists, misguided activists,  & anybody that denounces God. Furthermore, is ill toward anybody that opposes their agenda.
    You're cute.

I suspect  Bill Clinton will spend more time a Trump White House (once Melanie moves in) than he ever would if Madam Cankles Paint Suit won the job!

Go Cavs!   Gotta try and get this thread banned before tip off!

I will give you this much, I did do considerable better under Slick Willie than I did under the mooslim. I will concur on that point.

Before I go I will translate the word "covfefe" for those not in the know.
    It simply translates as follows:

    Sorry John, I couldn't resist ;)

Slick Willie is no longer president so I'd suggest leaving him out of the conversation.
