What I don't understand is how and who they decide to ban. Example- Love him or hate him, Nola is a huge contributor here. Probably more so than anyone else. It was his posts for the most part that inspired me to join the forum. Granted he went a little off of the deep end with that one post. But look at all the good that he has done. On the other hand, look at how long Mike Haucheritz got away with contributing nothing but vulgarity and obscenities. Everything he posted was just nasty. Yet it went on and on. The Man in a Mask did nothing but make threats and call folks names. He got thread after thread buffaloed with his antics. Including two of mine. He constantly called Stike and Mikee really ugly names. Some may argue that Stike brought it on himself, but in reality no one really deserves that. Again, it went unchecked. They are not the only two. There have been others pop in and do nothing but wreak constant havoc without contributing anything worth while. So with all of that said, I personally feel that Nola's ban was unjust. They should have just buffaloed the thread and called it good enough. The man has put on 2 brisket camps, attends numerous egg fests, and on top of that he can flat out cook. Why in the hell would you ban him when there are others still around that deserve to be banned. Just my thoughts my friends.

I think that nobody is above accountability. Here's an extreme example to illustrate my point. Some Catholic priests did some bad things, but otherwise they did many more good things. Should they have little or no consequences because they did more good things?
What Nola did was stupid. Maybe he was looking to get booted? He did leave for quite some time at one point. I think it's possible for him to return if JIC could do it.Flint, Michigan -
@Fred19Flintstone, I'd probably rank vulgar language in a pile other than pedophilia, sodomy and sexual abuse, maybe? The nonsense brother Nola posted was stupid, granted, just like 90% of the crap on tv now. Why not buffalo the thread? Are all the mods Catholic?Sandy Springs & Dawsonville Ga

I understand the point that you are trying to make. However there is a huge difference between people in authority positions raping little boys and a hippy saying the word Fu_k on a forum. It's not apples to apples. Nola's thread should have been buffaloed, the priests should have went to the electric chair. Don't misunderstand, I agree that he was wrong. But not ban worthy.Fred19Flintstone said:I think that nobody is above accountability. Here's an extreme example to illustrate my point. "A little far"? I still think his drunk thread was way outta bounds. I would have suspended for a week with the recognition that 2 strikes yer out. I hope @sgh is right - that he can return late next week.bgebrent said:Well said @SGH. To damned much PC bs these days. I feel that the ban will be lifted. However if it is not, I will sadly go the way of the buffalo myself. I will stand down and move back to the Brethern.Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

I agree it was not ban worthy. Like you, I will fade to the brethren after I comment on my good buddy John here.SGH said:

John, you seem like a smart guy. I'm surprised the overall point of accountability escaped you. But then again, you delight to take any opportunity to give me a swift kick south of the border. Well done.JohnInCarolina said:

I for one will never eat at Chick-fil-A again. I don't know if they gave him a warning or not. If they didn't they should have. He's a cool guy and definitely brings more good then bad. I've been branching out more. I'm on brethren now. Reddit is pretty good I like the format. I missed the post in question, it must have been pretty rough, but I have learned a lot from Nola's posts and input and been entertained at the same time. I find this forum a great source of entertainment and knowledge. I can usually tell from the post title if it is something I want to read or not. That being said, it is supposed to be a family friendly forum, but that is not exactly how it works out sometimes now is it? I think sinking the post would have been a better choice instead of banning him. Hope he's back soon. Just my thoughts.

Sister the post its self wasn't really that bad. It was the the title of the thread it's self. It was titled "Fu_k You". That will summon the buffalo every time.Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

Folks, it was NOLA. It was a person that had made me a better cook, and made me want to share the BGE with everyone I know. Kill the thread, put him in timeout, or whatever, but do not ban this egger. He may get crusty and extremely passionate about his views and ideas, but he is also a generous person that has helped many folks with just about everything egg and beyond. We have a great group of contributors, way too many to name. He was the one person, you could count on to give you straight advice, then joke with you about it the rest of your life.
I get the idea this is the property of the BGE, but NOLA has done a lot for them as well.
I vote him to be back in."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

I am relatively new around here. But I do enjoy the community(OT if you will) bantering that goes on. Seldom truly mean spirited. But there is some limit. Those that mention BBQ Brethren, would this fly there? I just joined today and by reading their rules I would think not. I am a Global Moderator on an automotive forum. It is a tightrope to keep the site flowing while not letting things get out of hand. Nobody is ever really happy with what my decisions are. A temp ban in this case seems fair enough from my vantage point. But a prolonged suspension would seem overkill. I hope NOLA is reinstated. I have learned from his posting. That counts for more than a little off color posting.

Not for a second. It would be killed immediately. However over there it's cut and dry. You know what will fly and what won't.
