So on the drive home:
Amy, "what was your favorite food for the weekend?"
me: restaurant or camp?
A: any
Me: I don't know, those Dragos oysters were damn good, but the ones Saturday were too. Not sure what my favorite was. How about you?
A: I can't decide....
i seriously didnt have a bad meal anywhere. I'd weigh 500# if I lived there. -

Forgot to mention that NOLA Brisket Fest 2015 might not have happened if @DMW hadn't slept with the Eggs and kept them at temp. And his lamb skills prompted us to change his handle to The Lambinator.

True.. I went in that motorhome and went to SLEEP!! Some observations:
1. Brisket camp should be renamed Burning Egg, since it was more Burning Man than eggfest.
I could barely keep track of everything that was going down over a 24 hr period - briskets, beef ribs, pork butts, shoulders, Baltimore pit beef, the lamb on the cinder block pit (who we really should have named), pastrami, tacos, gumbo, chili, red beans and rice, @thatgrimguy 's breadmeister slinging dough out of 5gal buckets in the middle of the night, etc. All in a parking lot, with a Winnebago stocked for the apocalypse, and a place with a bunch of unused kitchen equipment (including a badazz slicer).
2. Its pretty farkin amazing what a bunch of guys can cook if they have enough alcohol available.
3. If @stone talks you into something, and you're a gullible enough bastige to do it... let him. End result is pretty good.
4. @nolaegghead & @fleurdelirious are swell folks. Between picking many of our sorry arses up from the airport, they let us invade their home for the weekend and raid it for beer, cooking supplies, and other stuff. A standing ovation for them, please.
@henapple - many PBR's were poured out for you homey. I need to go detox now.

It wouldn't be brisket camp without a few slices of the digits:
@FleurdeLirious took care of me Saturday night after I caught an edge of the brisket knife trying to cut up some bread. It is literally a flesh wound."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike -

@caliking nice summary of the food and all valid points. You guys did some fantastic work.

Thanks for sharing the pics guys. Wish we could have been there. We love Nawlins, been awhile since we were there. Cajuns are crazy. Just our sort of people.

@dmw cool video. That guitarist had talent beyond description playing basically four instruments with both hands and feet. And Jazz is the coolest cat on the planet.

FleurdeLirious said:That pit, as @Thatgrimguy said, is part of what made this gathering an EPIC one. And his beef ribs, and Chris' awesome bread, and @eggcelsior's pit beef...and... And... I'm out of functioning neurons after cleaning and moving stuff out of the venue all day. Oh, and now all of it is HERE for me to deal with. Going to have a filthy dirty martini and contemplate the plan for tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone who came and helped make this thing so great!Lenoir, N.C. -
That looks like a great time was had by all. I didn't see any older folks there.....perhaps it would be too rough on the body?Ellijay GA with a Medium & MiniMax
