That man is legit!  Interested to see if @nolaegghead is supporting that b!tch...

I'll likely vote for her if she wins the primary, although I'd rather vote for some others that are and are not running.  She's a bit conservative for me.  She's a connected to business like a republican.  Given the extremist nature of the republican party, whom I would frequently vote for when they had a sensible more intellectual and less "jesus fascist" median attitude, I don't see any good alternatives.  Everyone is trying to out-conservative one another and it's really pathetic, watching them flip...flop (the original state being something less conservative).  This flippidyfloppin is disingenuous.  Benghazi.

So I'll probably vote for the ****, in lieu any insane person, which looks inevitable.

Hillary's biggest upside is that she heads up the party that is not insane.  For many people, that's enough.

John, I'd almost give you a handjob for stating that.  An astute observation that is sadly true.  Not because of the masses but because the extremism is greater on the right.

I think thats more perception than reality. In my opinion, a right lean will believe the left has a greater level of extremism and vice versa. Its just the nature of the beast.

Certainly one's political views impacts how the parties are viewed, no question.  But objectively, the two parties cannot be equally extreme.

Sure they can, 'center' is arbitrary.  There's no standard yardstick for this.

This is the sort of argument that simply leads to the conclusion that, well, the two parties are really no different.  A pox on both their houses, all politicians are scum, sort of thing.  I'm sympathetic to the point of view, but I think it's lazy.

The center that makes sense to start with is simply where the majority of Americans fall on various issues.

Well, I am that.  I just don't see the benefit of refined labeling.  In some ways, they are not different, in others they are very different.  No benefit to the label, it only supports continuing the argument that one over generalized group is more right or less wrong than the other which to me is what politicians want us debating, instead of debating government, issues and solutions.  I think the labels or categorization is lazy.

I would agree with you if I was insisting that the label is the end of the discussion.  For me, it's just the beginning.  If you're willing to accept the premise that one party might be more extreme than the other, where the discussion should go is to understanding why that is the case.

Good point.  I think this is somehow related to the fact that Carey is offering hand jobs.

Even though she's insane as fvck, so I guess that means an insane person is representing the sane side.

I get you, I just despise the discussion of parties in general.  If I ran a party, it's the argument I would want the people having, steer people away from the issues and results.  This puts thick lenses on people that influence how they see issues, allows people to be lazy and have a strong opinion about something they havent bothered to understand.

Fair enough.  My original comment about Hillary was actually more about the issues.  One thing that's going to be interesting to watch is where the GOP candidate comes down on the ACA, for example.  The ship on wholesale repeal has long since passed, so what's their message going to be?

Yep, I agree.  In the real world, solutions are rarely right the first implementation and never in a complex system.  It would be much smarter, though politically suicidal, to acknowledge this and plan for continued evolution and tweaking.

Redistribution, as in "taxes", did not begin in '09.
