Organising the accompanying potato & veg to go with mu turkey.  Only 3.5 kgs, but first go with a lump of meat that size - so really lesson in balancing temperatures.   No real prep' but seasoned flour and streaky rashes over the top.

@CPFC1905 - Will be quite interested in the outcome.  Likely a great flavo(u)r profile.  Lookin' good right there.

    Diggin' this new tool.

    Feel free to judge.

    Cool tweezers!

I've used a pair of foot long tweezers for years. Got them at the pet store - they're sold for folks to feed insects to their lizards or such. They're plenty sturdy for bacon and the other things I use them for but the ones you have look next level sturdy.

    Where's you find those?

    @lousubcap
    I am giving myself a Grade B.
SWMBO liked it, which is the main thing.
What I learned; how often to check and adjust for a balanced 200 degree cook across 2 hours.
What I invented (sort of); pulled turkey and turkey crackling (do you call crispy roast pork skin that too?)
In summary, BGE ran a bit hot for a while and so I needed up at over 80 Int. Temp.  I took the bird off and tented under foil while the spuds and greens caught up.
You'll notice that the bacon is gone in the image.  We decided that crispy streaky was ideal accompaniment for the bottle of rose we had opened.
Meat it self looked dry - but was still a little moist curtesy of the the BGE indirect cook.  (hence pulled and not so much carved nearest the cavity)
Total bonus : while clearing up, I found the skin next to the roasting tray had caramelised and was deeee-lish!  My new favourite thing. Turkey crackling.

Off to smash through the washing up and a bottle of red!

Thanks.  May have to check out the pet store for a camping knife roll tweezer.  At first I thought they would be a one trick pony, pasta only, but I'm quickly finding many uses.  Bacon being one of them.  Reaching into the pickle jar, another. Lol

They are really nice, sturdy.  Used Rosle utensils while tending bar, all good quality stuff.

Even the eye is handy, as I hang them next to the cooktop.

@CPFC1905 - thanks for the detailed write-up.  As long as SWMBO approved then all is well.  200*C makes for a quick cook.  I enjoy the different terms/phrases from your side of the pond.  Love crispy poultry skin-glad it worked out for you.
Enjoy the red.  Tomorrow is Monday...  ;)

I can see these being quite useful.  Didn't know they existed, nor that I must have them when I went to bed last night.  You're a Focker.

Now I must have some as well. Would be great for turning bacon, wings, etc. Went to Amazon to get some and found these for half the price:

Well, I don't know what the difference is, but obviously the other ones must be twice as good.  Always spend the most, just to be safe - right?

@Focker - you can get the "lizard feeders" from Amazon also. They do have a 1001 uses. I've bought a few pair of these over the last few years - keep one in my tool chest, one with my pc/electronics tools, and a couple in my kitchen.
