@Ozzie_Isaac What I think we might do is bend some steel to fit the radius of the dome and tap it for new screws. The band on the egg isn't such a bad design after all.....

I'm still not sure I know quite what you are trying to rehab?  I have some mad respect for your skills, @WeberWho but that doesn't look anything like a smoker.

The first pic is The Big steel Keg dome upside down. The second pic is the is liner of the dome sitting upright. The insulation is what sits between the two pieces when rivited together.

It's built exceptionally well (made and designed in China), not much glass in it at all, a THREE-blade aperture.  Definitely a studio-only lens, very tricky to set up.  

Abe needs to put some cloths on.
