@DoubleEgger it's miserable up here. Air quality is unhealthy for healthy adults. One fire less than 3 miles from me is 300 acres. One in the next county over, not sure how big, but it's maybe 10-15 miles away. Can see it from the top of the hill into the neighborhood. It's like it's pressing down on us. The worst part is trying to convince my 10 yr old we're not at fire risk.

I was in the Smokies last weekend.  Hazy and nasty there as well. There was a spot near the Kentucky/Tennessee border that I had trouble breathing while driving through IN MY CAR!

Hope those fires stop soon and clear out for y'all.  It's amazing this isn't getting more news.

@Jeremiah the closest on is in some really turf terrain. Not many houses. It would take some serious wind to get over to us. They have it inside a firebreak, but any wind and it will jump. They had it mostly under control, but it's blazing back up. The one to the west is no threat. 

The only real problem(for us) is air quality. Matthew is a bit of a worry wart, so he's concerned.

We REALLY need some rain. Last time I remember rain was 9/18, but last real rain was in July. Crazy. Don't ever remember it being this bad. Usually it's a lot colder and wetter by now.

Be sure your vehicles are "backed in". When Suzy and I were backpacking in Yosemite, it was the law, due to the wild fires at the time. Seconds do matter.

Plugging in all the dates and info into the calendar for my two upcoming cataract surgeries. Got the definitive dates yesterday. First one is one week from today, second one in December. Timing $ucks, but has to be done. The good doctor promised both would be done before the end of the year and he nailed it. I can't stand not being able to read player jersey numbers and scores on the big screen. God bless hubby. He gives me play by play on which down, which quarter, and the score when I come into the room, oh, and subtitles for movies. Try watching Geronimo without being able to read the dang screen, lol. Ain't technology great?
