Thanks so much, @Sardonicus. I appreciate that. This same Opthalmologist did my hubby and father-in-law's surgeries and he is great. Utmost confidence in him. Just hate the timing around the holidays, but it'll be fine. I think I have it! Pimento and cheese sandwiches for everyone for Thanksgiving and Christmas. =)

You will be pleased at the recovery. That is all that matters. It will go well. Timing may be tough, but it will be so very worth the hassle. Short term problem for a long term fix.

Thanks @YukonRon, you are so right. All joking aside, I am looking forward to getting it done and over with.

Plugging in all the dates and info into the calendar for my two upcoming cataract surgeries. Got the definitive dates yesterday. First one is one week from today, second one in December. Timing $ucks, but has to be done. The good doctor promised both would be done before the end of the year and he nailed it. I can't stand not being able to read player jersey numbers and scores on the big screen. God bless hubby. He gives me play by play on which down, which quarter, and the score when I come into the room, oh, and subtitles for movies. Try watching Geronimo without being able to read the dang screen, lol. Ain't technology great?
I assume this current state was actually a benefit given the Saturday night last second field goal?  Sorry...couldn't pass that one up. Al the best on the surgeries. Expect to see you at the Butt Blast this year....and you to see me as well.

Good news: I just got a "all good" report on my heart after a barrage of tests.  Bad news - the tests began shortly after 3am and were preceded by an ambulance ride.  First time I've called 9-1-1 for myself.  I'm exhausted after 8 hours in the ED. Mrs. Jethro is cooking dinner tonight.

Glad everything with the pump is fine. Rest and relax, get healthy again. Very glad you got the great news.

@northGAcock, I didn't have to "see" that last field goal. Hubby was having a conniption fit after the failed touchdown attempt by Clemson and the field goal happened quickly. All of the neighbors heard it and we sit square in the middle of an acre. His reaction reminded me of a madman, lol. Doing our best to make Butt Blast this year.

@JethroVA, that had to have been a horrible experience. So glad everything is fine, although I am sure there were some terrifying moments before you got the all clear. Sometimes, surprises aren't so good. Agree on rest to get over the ordeal. This will be a special Thanksgiving for you for sure.

Just tell them your kid is distraught over Trump. You're in California so they'll buy it.

im actually very proud he is the class clown. To me, that means he will be much better and confident in his life socially, which will go far in any profession he chooses.

I just have to to teach him how to be the class clown the teacher likes as well. Work on his timing.

Last winter I spent $900 to get my 14-year-old Saab's seats reupholstered, she was running like a top.  Sure enough, a month later the trannie started dying, and the 120K sched. maintenance light came on.  Kelly Bluebook trade-in value was $1,700.  But I'd never have another Saab...
Fast-forward to today: after spending more than I should have on a new trannie last winter, I took her in for the 120K Mx.  Cost a couple hundred more than expected, but the new place got her fixed up, also repaired a couple unexpected items (and my turbo is SINGING now, yeah!).  New shop also told me they could fix the unreadable digital display for $200, I was expecting around $1,500 and dismissed it, that was fantastic news!
I'm extremely happy tonight.  I got 230,000 out of my first Saab before it was destroyed by a redlight runner, have 127,000 miles on this one and expect her to last another 5 or so years now.

Pretty good deal for $200. The guy put most of it together then left it on his porch so it's a little faded but nothing a can of ultra high heat won't fix. Can't wait to fire this thing up.

There are also a few good threads over on the pizzamaking forum.

Adding a thrust bearing on mine made a world of difference. Also, a $10 foot pedal switch to turn the motor on and off made life a lot easier.
