    Filling up the fountain/pool/roman bath.

I am hopeful that this is not the fountain for the pool you mentioned earlier. It could have been so much more!

Some more serious comments/questions, 1) Why elevate the pool deck/coping 18" above grade (rain/runoff/view over the fence - nice cactus by the way)? 2) What is the surface inside the pool? Gunite? 3) Where is the pool equipment room? Filter type/chlorinator/heater/chiller/pic's.

Really looking forward the final pic's - kitchen/pool/landscaping - in all its glory.
    0) I like the industrial feel of that water fountain 🤣

     1) we are in a flood plan (even the desert has them).  So even though code does not require it, I decided to have the pool 18" out of the ground.  I like the functionality and the aesthetics.  Pools are very common here, and that makes it a bit unique.

    2) The pool is shotcrete

    3) All pool equipment is to the side of the yard behind a fence.  The fence needs some attention, but it works for now to hide the equipment.  Code did require all equipment to be 24" off the ground, hence the enormous fence. I wanted it outside my main yard fence, but ran into some issues with county code enforcement and the ability to climb up the equipment and over the fence.  I wish I had done this, and may move it one day.  No heater yet, I plan to install a solar heater.  Luckily it is far from the house so noise isn't an issue.

While @Ozzie_Isaac and those in Hawaii are not dealing with the arrival of Daylight Saving Time in a few hours, the remainder of us are.  I am more than ready.  At least I reside on the western edge of the Eastern time zone or the darkness could have been even worse.

Growing up, daylight savings messed with my TV watching and baseball games.  The time of the shows changed in AZ, even though our time didn't. So while everyone else kept there shows at the same time, ours moved.

Vacuum hose fell off the saw and the amount of sawdust is insane for one cut.  Although it’s through 2” of live oak.

I’m one of the ones that hate DST. I prefer the time we are on now. So in my case DST messes up everything. I f’ing hate it.

Drinking coffee. About to get donuts for the 4 heathens (2 not ours). Their dad running the marathon that passes in front of our house. The heckling will commence around 7:45 CST

I sure hope those donuts will feature in the heckling.

We like DST (in Miami). Since there is no DST in the USVI, now there is no time difference between our two homes. Other than that - not so much!

Pic #2 is round peg. Pic #1 square hole. Hmmmm.
Pic #3 a bit messy for my OCD tendencies.

Sweet. You won't regret the heater, whichever way go. Due to our location and backfitting our pool on the hillside, we had no real estate for solar heating. We do however have 10kW of solar on our roof ($0.52/kWhr down here). I opted for a heat pump since we need to chill the water for about a month in the summer. So we go both ways in the pool.

If only BGE corporate knew what a liability you were, @johnincarolina

Was out not far from you yesterday, btw. Nice temps you’re having. Would have stopped if I had had more time.
@paqman , based on this I'd say @GrateEggspectations is driving, hence my suggestion to pick up a KBQ😂

I have no clue what a KBQ is but if I was driving I wouldn’t think twice and I would stop to get one!  😂🤣

We always put the hot peanuts in Barqs root beer. Plain peanuts in Coke and RC.

I already did! 😂🤣 It looks like an interesting device.  I just ordered an outdoor wok burner so SWMBO will make me sleep on the couch for sure if she finds out that I am looking at yet another bbq piece of equipment

Great choice!  I have one, it is a beast and also my new camping travel setup too.

First dish you make for your wife on it, she will be thanking you for getting it.

@Ozzie_Isaac Hopefully she will see it that way!  For now she doesn’t  understand that I paid for something that I may not receive until the end of the summer with shipping cost almost as much as the device itself.  The website looks super shady too 😂🤣

Lol!  Yes, the website has scam written all over it.  I have talked to owner a few times and it is legit and he is super nice.

Basically he converts a commercial stove burner to a wok burner in his garage.

@Acn- definitely maximizing your Barcelona Trip.  Gotta be better than awesome.  What a venue.
Never mind the gourmet dining experiences.  Make sure you include a paella (or more) in your banquet plans.
