Watching a crew remove railroad ties and replace them with new ones.  Pretty fascinating process.  Imagine doing this for every single stretch of railroad in the nation.

Back in the early 70’s I use to be fascinated watching them change out ties on the rails that run right in front of my fathers house. What was so impressive about it was they pulled and replaced them by hand. Not with machines.

I cannot even imagine how much work that must have been.  The tie setter machine just drove the new ties, literally drove them in with what sounded like a giant slide hammer.

@JohnInCarolina - Looking forward to your porchetta cook as I have my eye on that bad boy from SRF as well.
BTW- great looking menu for this evening.  Chargrilled oysters for the win.  I'm sure all will have a great time.
We had a solid plate of oysters to get things going.  Great meal all around!

Funny you say that.  I bought a 2nd bottle for peanuts as a desert tonight. I am ruining water only stance, but they are so good.

I was going to expand on the above but with the Buffalo running amuck I would probably get banned.

Winter hike along Lake Michigan.   Was planning on viewing sunset but one child broke thru ice that filled the boot.  About a mile hike back after that.
That is a long walk with a soggy boot

@Ozzie_Isaac that Mexican coke with peanuts desert has a few challenges in front of it.  Just do it!
