flood ins policy ends the end of the month and the new policy is with loyds of london. over 8k drops down to 729.00 a year. hoping this all flies
Something was/is wrong there.  That's government insurance administered by private companies.  Did you get re-zoned?

loyds is not govt insured, pretty much same flood coverage and so far the mortgage company is accepting it. we shall see though by the 28th. its worth a shot, flood goes up 25 percent a year for me

I don't see why they wouldn't.  8k is insane.  Ours is under $1000 and we live in New Orleans (although we're in some of the highest ground...the Mississippi river is still over my head most of the year and that's 3 blocks from us).

I don't qualify for the lottery based on the following:
"The fourth seat will be decided by a second competition among new and existing customers of Isaacman’s Shift4Shop eCommerce platform."

Nest time I'll just buy it... =)
    Good luck.

The house in Grand Forks ND I purchased in '92 had some high water marks in the basement (which I hadn't noticed before the purchase).  I tried to buy flood insurance but I wasn't in the flood plane (the boundary was the street I lived on, I just lived on the wrong side).  Sold it in Dec '95, to a miserable human being whom I hated.  In Apr '96, the Great Flood of Grand Forks destroyed it.  Heh.
This was the first of four near-ruinous home disasters I've avoided.  One of these days my luck will give out.   :s

And, what am I doing right now?  This afternoon I cave-manned about 4.5 lbs of beef, assembled a rather elaborate sauce over an hour, and dumped it all into the slow cooker until tomorrow.  The smell is incredible, and I'm anxious to post some pics tomorrow.   :)

  • Never thought I would be typing this, but getting ready for work tomorrow.  After being laid off since last April, I finally have a new job.  Was beginning to think I had retired early.  Not going to lie.  Feeling a little bit anxious about going back.  Feels like I am starting over.  lol
You battled through a tough time and are moving forward. Hope the new job works out well for you.

  • Spent 20 minutes discussing a process and led to me saying “fine, we’ll do it your way so we can move on,” which resulted in another 20 minutes discussing why it is better even though more complex with no added value and they couldn’t give a justification ........ Had same discussion last Friday, definitely ground hog day.

David Luiz is contractually obliged to get sent off several times per season.

Maybe they should research the use of video technology?

    Oh.
But most of the times he thoroughly deserves it.  That was a very weak booking.

So, I try to be a centrist in most things, but I find myself out on one end of the bell curve where this stuff is concerned.  My take is that it doesn't take much contact to trip someone who is running at full speed while focusing on a ball and the defenders in front of them.  A little bump to an ankle can be enough.  On that particular play, I don't know many/any offensive players who would give up their chance to score past the keeper in the hope that a dive will get the ref to call a foul - so it doesn't make sense for the offensive player to take a dive.  And technically, if Luiz fouls him as the last defender, it can/should be a red card - and definitely a penalty for any foul in the box.

As I said, I know the majority see it differently...
