Got back into town late yesterday. Two trees leaning in over my back fence. I never lost power but cable and this WiFi are kaput. I will not be posting until it returns as my cell plan offers limited data. Cleanup begins today.

Chicken curry tonight after a busy day of helping neighbors with the outage and chainsawing stuff that fell in our yard.  This really came out good...looks pedestrian, but oh well.

That looks delicious! Almost a comfort food after a full day of cleanup! I hope to get our yard cleaned up before all Halloween tomorrow, we have some friends coming over to get showers and watch some football.

Well cable is back on. Spending the morning raking the front yard. Going to do the cleanup front to back. Just turned on the heater for the first time this year, as usual it stinks for the first day or so. Also washing the winter bedding at the same time.

According to the Googs, pineapple on pizza actually has its origins in Chatham, which is about two hours West of Hamilton by car.

I’m located in Canada’s national capital - Ottawa, which is in Ontario. We just moved houses and are now near a new host of restaurants. Discovered a great pizza place that offers some unique combinations. Upon first consulting the menu, I turn to my wife and suggest we get the pizza featuring honey garlic sauce - specifically, chicken, hot peppers, jalapeños, and pineapple, all drizzled with honey garlic on top. My wife, who loves chicken pizza, scoffs at the idea on account of the honey garlic, which she sees as a dealbreaker. We call the pizza place to place and order and she asks for recommendations. He then suggests the pizza I had been advocating for. We now never order anything else and my wife refers to it as her pizza.

Canada is responsible for pineapple on pizza and hamburgers!!  Canadians just get cooler and cooler.

My sticker expired last year.  I almost didn't get one because of a windshield patch that you can. barely see on the drivers side.  I just put this $800 windshield in a few years ago and a month later got rock damage...promptly fixed.  I told the guy this will be the last inspection I get if you want me to put in a new $800 windshield because of some almost invisible repaired damage, given the ticket is 150.

Watching the Vuelta a Espana (recorded). With the Covid, the commentators are working from home. Bob Roll had to go solo from Durango, CO because Christian Vande Velde lost power and internet from his home in Greenville, SC. He did a little interview on his cell phone, with a Big Green Egg in the background. At least he can eat well!

black tape over the airbag light for the win. it goes on and off but today it was on. had to remove the license plate brackets to test the reflectivity of the plates, they ran cameras up thru the frame rails, they tested the tint on the front and side window, sent pics of all four sides with the inspectors mug to the state, then checked 70 other things.  if you dont know the people at the garage, i dont see how you could pass

When I worked for a manufacturer, we had one and only one shop we took our test mules too.  It was a shady run down looking joint.  Not sure what an inspection is supposed to be, but we rolled in, they confirmed we had windows, tires, brakes and most of the lights.  Then we left.

my first car was inspected in nh, i had to go out and beep the horn. after that he used to just hand me a sticker and send me on my way. no sticker in mass goes against youre driving record, youre insurance increases about 30 percent and stays up for up to 7 years. you dont have to ask me how i know

It’s a 10- minute deal here. Quick emissions scan, check the tires, lights, tap the horn and you are on your way. They do verify insurance as well.

No emissions in New Orleans, different in Baton Rouge (AKA "Red Stick").  They verify insurance.  It's pretty much a money maker, they obviously don't care that much about the quality of the inspection around me.  My insurance agent refuses to get any of his cars inspected, ever.  "Have you ever received a ticket" I ask...."nope."

a few years ago i brought my 30 year old dakota in, no computer scan hookup. they drove it onto a dyno machine, hooked up the smog machine and drove it up thru the gears bringing it up to 40, down to 20, then up down for several minutes. how that passed is beyond me, i was even surprised the gas cap passed, they checked that

The best part is that the $10 or $20 sticker falls off inside of 60 days. Half the vehicles driving around Lafayette have them just laying on the dash all curled up

they have that figured out up here, theres a camera in the cruiser that id's the plate, checks registration, checks inspection, checks if the owner has any unpaid violations etc, and alerts the officer. if you hit the gas, the cruiuser launches a sticky gps transponder at your vehicle and all cruisers go on pursuit =) you cant make this stuff up

Ok, lads short and sharp this week too much going on around here, so;Palace v Wolves - Eagles are 2-0 down at the moment, so I am going 3-1

Saturday; Sheff Utd v Man City - both struggling, in their respective ways.  0-2 as normal service resumes

Burnley v Chelsea - home side too resolute and away side will run out of puff 0-0

Liverpool v West Ham - not yet fully consistent but good enough Reds will overcome a blunted Hammers, devoid of their attacking threat through injury.  2-0

In the Champ’ : Stoke v Rotherham - the Potters are finding form, a routine 2-0 victory.

Sunday; Villa v Southampton - 2 form teams meet up, but has Villa’s bubble burst? The Saints will show that it has. 1-2 away win.

Newcastle v Everton, the visitors are struggling to sustain their potent early form and have two star players out.  1-0 the Toon.

Man Utd v Arsenal - formerly a highlight of the season ten years ago.  Goals each way, 2-3 for the Gunners I reckon.

Spurs v Brighton - the filthy seagulls dipped out against West Brom and are looking ripe for the taking by Spurs.  3-0.

Monday;Fulham v West Brom - battle of the also rans, even this early in the season.  Could be 9-7, wont be though. 1-1.

Leeds v Leicester - media darlings versus the screaming scrotum & friends.  Goals ahoy. 3-4.

And without wishing to sink the thread, next time I do this you will be facing the prospect of 4 years with a white guy in his 70’s in the White House.  Happy pumpkin and voting season, my friends.

Other girls may try to take me away

Please tell me more!  I live in NC and have 4 cars, all have to be inspected with emissions every year.
Edited to add I just did a search and it depends on which county you reside.  That sucks for me!
