This was earlier, but put a storage box on my bike.  Now I need to put brake fluid in my rear brake....I guess enough leaked out....?

Are the brakes locked up, calipers not closing when you pull the brake lever, did fluid actually leak out? Could just be air in the hose but probably just need to bleed them out a little and top off with fluid (not sure if you have any on hand, pretty much just mineral oil for most brands like Shimano but other brands like SRAM use DOT fluid).

@cornholio - I serviced these once before...have the Hayes kit.  I'm pretty sure it's DOT 3/4 based on the corrosion on the fluid reservoirs.  Front brake works fine.  Back brake I have full lever throw and no drag.

My other bike uses DOT 5, which is basically silicone oil, I believe.

Excellent news!!  Glad the outcome was what it was.  Big Boss sounds like a decent person.

I’m just sitting here laughing at how much people are wanting to charge me to build a basic outdoor kitchen out of the extra brick I have left over on my back porch. 12ft long, I don’t need any electricity, gas or water ran and you want to try and charge me $4k-$6k? It’s a glorified rectangular box with stone countertop. I guess I’m nuts thinking it should cost about $2k-$3k max. I did the math and materials costs are no more than $400. Countertop is maybe $700. It would take 2 guys about a day to build the base and a half a day to put the countertop on. I’m failing to see where that’s $4k worth of labor.

@TEXASBGE2018 last year I would have agreed. Material costs here in TN have gone through the roof. People are doing remodels after being stuck at home, new home construction is booming (we hit our annual sales goal in 5 months), even trades are hard to come by.

That being said if you could get someone to drop the rest of the block and mortar and get them to cost it by the job I’m guessing you can get that job for under $2k.

Can you just plan it, make sure you have materials and hire a bricklayer on a day rate?

@FarmingPhD hahaha thanks!  yep, there's an old frequently generator and below the scope a variable power supply.  Most used is a portable Fluke.  I have a diagnostic equipment fetish.  Weird, huh?

That’s kinda my game plan now. I would even do it all myself but I don’t have the time.

Did you ever lay bricks? It's a slow process if you're not a professional. A pro will do 600+ bricks a day with a labourer (2 brickies plus 1 labourer = 1200+ per day). I laboured for a brickie for a day at my last house to build a small wall, couldn't keep up with 1 man. Did in a day what would have taken me weeks of evenings.
  • You can go to a new construction neighborhood where they’re putting bricks on houses tap one of those guys on the shoulder
