Just had lunch, met with a good friend to explore some new job opportunities.  Seriously debating a major job/life change.

My BIL is a corporate pilot. He and I just had this same conversation about himself yesterday at 40. Upside is no wife or kids. Just himself and spending habits to worry about. Trust your gut, you’re gonna come out on top

Were you sober when agreement was made?  If not the contact may not be binding.  None of my business but, if the challenge is important to be accepted, one week should prove any point.  Good luck however you end up!

I like change and I like learning.  My job provides neither opportunity.

Luckily, my wife's business is doing very well, so I have a chance to try a change.  Would be a whole new industry, finance instead of engineering.  Funny thing is my entire circle of friends are in finance, real estate, or construction. None of my personal friends are in engineering.  I am the odd duck.

So many rules.  Looks like fun though.
It’s really not hard.  The wife and I picked it up after just one game.

I was good until they started throwing the skulls.  No knocked over skulls carry over?  Looks like they get reset up at each round.

There are a couple variations.  In one, you keep tossing them back and forth.  In another, once they get knocked out as defensive skulls, they get tossed out permanently.

I would prefer tossed out after defensive position.  That sounds like Cornhole 21 rule.  You either need exactly 21 or just over 21.

Right.  It’s really a choice that governs how long the game will tend to last.

Was grocery shopping, still SMH... this idiot stuck his paw into multiple bags of grapes to cherry pick, as if that wasn’t bad enough, he pulled down his mask to taste test 🤣
So many people just don't get it!  I've seen similar at the Air Force commissary (but it was tomatoes; "Let me touch every single one in the bin!")  :anguished:

This was very interesting to me, Ozzie.  The last four years of my "career" was military construction: finance, real estate, construction, and too big of a dose of congressional quagmire; I absolutely hated it.  I'm getting kind've bored in retirement (albeit with the pandemic I'm not sure where I'm at, mentally); might still pursue a job back in engineering.  We'll see.

And, yes, you are an odd duck; 96% of we engineers HAVE no personal friends!

Ever see The Pentagon Wars?  When I watch that movie, I am not sure whether to laugh or cry.

I think my friends keep me around as the token engineer.  You know, to show how enlightened and accepting they are.

Heading out to my favorite local winery. Governor Nuisance just allowed outdoor tasting at wineries for the first time since March. By reservation only, and I have three reservations this weekend. Belly up to the bar, boys!
XL BGE in San Jose, CA. Also a Pit Barrel Cooker, a Cal Flame P4 gasser, and lots of toys including the first ever Flame Boss 300 in the wild. And a new Flame Boss 500.
