must be mating season, could hear a bobcat screaming over and over this morning. the dog was in high alert.  never heard one going off before
Grew up with them and we have one in the neighborhood now. That is a haunting scream.

hoping this one moves way upstream,  my dog will go at it face to face if it gets in the yard. he doesnt know when to back down
Living around them my entire life, I have actually only seen two in the wild. They are pretty skittish and will avoid contact if at all possible.
Agree. Very common around here too. Only saw 2 but you can hear them often. I tried calling it in one night with a distressed rabbit call. No dice

i just know my brittany spanial, seen him walk up to a 60/70 pound coywolf nose to nose like nothing was happening. have only seen two bobcats as well, this one has been around for about two months now, first time i heard that repetitive scream though. squirrel in the yard had no hair on its back and the head is a liitle messed up so im thinking its hanging around pretty close

We see them a fair bit.  Not as skittish around here as I would like.  However, they are more skittish than the coyotes.

Bear River City is about 30 minutes northwest of here, and has some tall cottonwoods overlooking the Bear River; in February you can usually see bald eagles in those trees.  One trip there weren't any, and I decided to try the rabbit call...
     :o
Every dog in Bear River City went absolutely ballistic!    I decided I'd better not do that again (and I have no idea whether raptors respond to sounds).

I nearly ran over a coyote Friday night. It looked like he crossed in front of me and I didn’t see him until he got to the grass. Large but probably not over 50 lbs.

A CMSgt I worked with at Grand Forks AFB had me visit his brother in northern MN, who owned a campground/fishing business.  Every night he'd come in by boat with his clients and clean their fish (northern pike and walleye) from that day while they partied, and early the next morning he'd dump a bunch of pails of fish heads/guts into a field... with about two dozen bald eagles licking their lips beaks.
I didn't get very good pics, too slow a film speed and only a 200mm lens, but it was a cool experience!

Unfortunately I no longer hustle bingo.  It was a good gig while it lasted.  Those joints are absolute money making machines.  Popular way to launder money too, it turns out.

Saw some doofus on EweTube catch one of those things in Japan, grab it with forceps, and he let it bite and sting his forearm.  Nope-nope-nope!

Minor generator maintenance.  We lost power. I pulled out the generator and pulled the starter cord only to have it snap - but it started on the first pull!   Had to replace the string.

Still need a new fuel line - noticed some dry rot cracks.
