My two cents on the garden set up is I don’t think a deer is going to jump into that small of a area. It’s one thing to hop a fence row but another to jump into a confined area with a box in the middle.. not enough room.  Keep us posted

@alaskanassasin I was thinking the same thing. If a deer did jump in there he’d probably tear that fence down trying to get out.

That was exactly my thought. Sure a whitetail can clear 5ft but that area is only 10x14 with a 4x8 bed in the middle. Not enough room....that's my hope.

Ever notice how projects start with something that seems simple and innocent?

I had a bare spot in the yard and when I went out to repair, I found the old downspout drain line was about 1” below grade. I figured this was why I wasn’t getting grass. So 8 hrs later and a bunch of red clay, busted roots and a sore back and we are ready for another 30 years. I hope anyway...

And put back together- notice the large Poplar tree

Based on my visiting plumber's suggestion from Friday, yesterday I removed the nozzles from the sinks in my kitchen and all bathrooms, dropped them into a glass, and poured in some white vinegar.  One of the metal nozzles got so many bubbles forming on it, it floated to the top of the glass!

Today I rinsed them off and reinstalled.  I can't believe the amount of water flow I'm now getting everywhere, w0ot!!

I've done this every couple years or so on my shower head, to remove the calcium deposits: Pour a half-cup of white vinegar into a sammich bag, lift it over your showerhead, and secure with some masking tape overnight.  Nice, full shower the next morning, after the eyeball-burning splash of white vinegar in your eyes because you forgot it was there when you turned on the shower.  I've lived here 25 years now, it never occurred to me to do the same to my faucet nozzles.  Something for you to do, if you get bored in this shutdown.

And, @Wolfpack, I don't see a poplar in that last photo?

Grew up with them and we have one in the neighborhood now. That is a haunting scream.

Living around them my entire life, I have actually only seen two in the wild. They are pretty skittish and will avoid contact if at all possible.
