That may have been its rep many years ago, but it's actually a pretty nice airport now.  Very modern, some upscale restaurants, and plenty of places to sit and plug in.

So yes, it is actually a better place to be than ATL.

Yea my son is now driving and the twins are 13. I just coached my last season of middle school softball and have been in a panic about them growing up. I know it's inevitable but make it stop!! 😥😥😥

I am clearly on the wrong side of life these days.  Two sons now 28 and 32 and could not wait for them to leave the nest.  No regrets with that approach.
Now SWMBO had a much more challenging time but navigated thru it quite well.
Every situation is different and I get that.

Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Don't know if you noticed, @yolk, but that's one COOL photograph!  :triumph:

I'm somewhere in between you and @GATraveller then.   Just offloaded junior in to the loving arms of Her Majesty the Queen (in to the air force, not prison) and those of his bafflingly tolerant g/friend.
But SWMBO's fears of redundancy were allayed when senior announced that Grand-gift #1 will arrive in March.
    I assume there's a grand-parent thread?
Other girls may try to take me away
But you know, it's by your side I will stay

Congrats to the Springboks! Tough night for England.
Hoping the USA learns to play the game in time for the next Cup.

Scoping out my now frozen lawn that I've been too sick to cut the last two weeks.  Hoping next week's projected higher temps come to fruition and that this stupid grass goes dormant after this next mowing.  Also planning my cooks for today, tomorrow and possibly Monday.  It's nice having an appetite again.

We were poor, they were good. Closed us down like we closed down NZ last week and dominated the scrum.

Google for the win.  I recently (being old) got into enjoying a bowl of ice cream around the evening (and more) adult supervisory beverages. Noticed different behavior characteristics depending on the brand:
Here's the confirmation of my clouded assessment:
"The less expensive brands usually contain more air than the premium brands. One side effect of adding a lot of air to ice cream is that it tends to melt more quickly than ice cream with less air.

The amount of air also has a huge effect on the density of ice cream. A gallon (3.8 liters) of ice cream must weigh at least 4.5 pounds, making the minimum density 0.54 gram per milliliter. Better brands have higher densities—up to 0.9 grams per milliliter. The next time you visit a grocery store, compare cheaper and more expensive brands by holding a carton in each hand—you should be able to notice a difference. Then read the net weight on the label to confirm your observation. Due to the high fat content of ice cream, however, and because fat is less dense than water, any ice cream will always be less dense than any aqueous solution, otherwise you would not be able to make root beer floats!"

My contribution to an otherwise benign Friday.  FWIW-
