Just gonna sit around and ignore the door tonight, our neighborhood does trick or treating on the Sunday before Halloween, so anyone who braves the elements tonight clearly doesn't live in our neighborhood.

@DoubleEgger Yea brother definitely goes on the porch. We stole this idea from some family down on the panhandle so we are in no way original! But it's easy to do and the best part, we had the rest of the pineapple for breakfast.

Somebody has to hold down the fort and take care of the incoming trick or treaters. That's my story and as long as I tossed up some decorations and wore an ugly costume, I won.  Food for next year-
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Annual Halloween tradition from last night

That... might be quite edible at the end of the evening, maybe even over vanilla ice cream.   :)

EDIT:  ...and I just saw you eat some for breakfast, but I'm thinking about the candle-toasted stuff still in the shell.

'splain this to me. I saw on the news a list of towns around the country that move Halloween to other nights, so folks weren't rushed or have to go to work/school the next day.  Makes sense to me, on a Saturday or even a Friday night, but why Sunday?  Kids'll still have a sugar night and be groggy for school the next morning.

Interesting, could be a good strategy but the pineapple looks a lot worse for wear today so I wouldn’t eat it. Maybe if I got one that wasn’t as ripe.

Not sure what strategy you used, I’m sure there are a few out there but I normally cut the top off then cut around the core close to the “bark”? Of the pineapple. Then from behind the pineapple, I cut a slit across and the whole core comes out. Then I just slice off the meat and save for later. After that, rotate and carve the face.

I suppose sure, if you let them eat candy all night.  Schedule goes like this...neighborhood meets at one intersection at 3 Sunday afternoon, kids all in costume.  Follow a volunteer fire truck to the local park (approx 3/4 of a mile).  Costume contest at the park, kids start trick or treating after their age range is done (so young kids start first).  All trick or treating is usually wrapped up by 5:30.  Neighborhood has done this 40+ years.

As far as why on a Sunday, not completely sure why it was done that way.  Our neighborhood isn’t as heavily orthodox as the rest of the area, but that could certainly have changed in that amount of time.

It’s November chaps and you know what that means?  We are now allowed to confidently predict each teams destiny because they have passed the 10 game threshold.   Please don’t bring your science, it’s just a quasi-fact accepted by football fans.

We reconstitute in to a more familiar pattern of mostly Saturday and a couple of Sunday matches this week.   And, so as not to irk any of our collective - I shall keep it snappy and interesting.

Saturday lunchtime - or drunk o’clock for me and @Eoin depending on how things go in Japan.

Resurgent Man Utd go to Bournemouth.  Ole’s misfits have taken 4 from 4, largely spurred by Marcus Rashford.  Good test for them as the Cherries have stagnated recently, sucking goals out of games almost completely. Stormy weather forecast on the South coast tomorrow, so its a 3-2 game.  I think Bournemouth will edge it.

    Proper o’clcok now;

Madcap clown gang Arsenal host Wolves.  Anything could happen here - except Xhaka leading the home team out of the tunnel.   The Gunners were so obviously going to give up a 2 goal lead last week to Palace,  even I felt confident of that!   In times like this I like to employ Occams Razor to zero in on the most likely outcome.  I therefore predict Elvis will not score a 90th minute winner for Wolves.   Otherwise, anyones guess, but 2-1 Arsenal as a holding position.

Villa welcome Liverpool, who will win - and let a goal in.  3-1 feels about right.  Er,  that’s it - really.

Doomed (see opening comment) Norwich come to stormy Sussex tomorrow hopeful of getting something off the wretched Seagulls.  I hope so, but I doubt it.  Meh, 2-0 to the stripey chancers.

As if getting humped 9 (nine) - 0 last week by Leicester was not enough,  Southampton now go to Man City. I understand the Saints have offered a 4-0 defeat now, to avoid all the fuss of actually playing.  They should take it, as long as Sterling the captain of my FF team, is awarded the goals.   4-0 it is then.

Grim northerners Sheff U take on grim northerners Burnley.  War of the roses stuff here - battle of the Pennines and all that.  Very tight game.  Dyche’s boys should have enough about them to avoid defeat but I don’t think either team is good enough to beat the other.  0-0

West Ham v Newcastle - the bore fest of the weekend.  The Hammers will probably win,  perhaps the minotaur that is  Andy Carroll will play - perhaps JR Ewing will too?  1-0 West Ham and so Newcastle edge closer the trap-door.

Relegated (see opening comment) Watford will see little charity from Chelsea, who will play a typically excellent half a match - scoring three times.  How bad the other half is will determine how many Watford score 1 or maybe event 2.  Another football fact is that injured players’ quality grows proportionate to their absence.  Hence Troy Deeney - Watford’s broken striker, is now Pele and Messi multiplied.  And he’ll need to be to save this bunch of hoofers.   3-1 the Chels’

Sunday starts with what should be an entertaining game, but it’s Sunday lunchtime so it won’t be.   The flying Foxes come to Selhurst Park, home of the gravity defying Palace (still 6th!!!!!).  We have done the double of them in the last two seasons,  but that’s yesterday’s water or news under the bridge or whatever.   Tight game though.  One all I reckon.  Or 9 -8 if VAR gets involved.

Misfiring Everton receive misfiring Spurs at tea-time.  Instinctively Spurs should take this - but they are all at sea right now.  Everton are getting retribution for their own pre-season hype and attempts to steal Zaha from Palace.  No sympathy.  1-0 Spurs.

And now we delve in to the Championship and to no surprise at all Stoke have chopped their manager, Nathan Jones.    He has indeed ‘gone too long’ and is now at the discretion of Mrs Jones around the house.  To be fair he came with good pedigree and inherited a ‘challenging’ situation amongst the playing squad.   Monday evening offers little respite as table topping noisy neighbours West Brom come to town.  Who knows, maybe the dead cat will bounce.  Maybe it won’t.  2-0 defeat I’m afraid and hopefully Hughton is in post Tuesday morning.

That’s it folks - I’m off to load the fridge with Guinness in time for the real, actual big match tomorrow morning.   Swing Low my friends.    (Maybe Google that before it conjures wildly inappropriate images in your mind?)

Other girls may try to take me away
