Getting things ready to make some ribs and beans. XL is loaded with Rockwood and cherry.

I was considering using the XXL, but here's what I found this morning:

Two cracks in the base. I burned out mold last night, but held it to 600*. Warranty time on Monday.

@DMW- Dang.  Given the number of cooks on that beast that is disappointing. I would venture that your dealer doesn't have a replacement base just sitting around.  It will be interesting to see how promptly your claim is addressed.  (The base likely needs its own transport =) ).

Have the dash out of my truck, replacing the evaporator core, also the compressor bearings are shot... trying to save a $1,200 labor bill.

I admire your effort.  The older I get, the more I let someone else do the work. Tearing out a dashboard is one thing I haven't tried; good luck!

Feeling jealous.  My dad just bought an Uuni Pizza oven.  Looks like I'm going to have to go play with it

@NPHuskerFL Blake, how do you like those Lane's rubs?  I'm looking to order something new and was looking at them. I have a bottle of their Signature rub that hasn't impressed too much.  Was interested in their Ancho Espresso and Brisket rub.  Thx!

@DoubleEgger - I get that, especially given your location and set-up.  Enjoy the lake this weekend.

@YEMTrey I like the Ancho Espresso on brisket, ribs and occasionally steak. Haven't tried the Signature Rub.  I already like Ancho Chile ground using mortar and pestle and the espresso is a nice compliment. I don't know if you've ever tried it but using black coffee preferably cold pored over any slow-cooked beef price brings out some great flavors.

Get the Kapalua rub and put it on a piece of salmon or bacon. Killer!

Thanks @YEMTrey - just a quick stop on our way to Maine.  My daughter has never been to Boston, and I haven’t been for a while.

Now we’re sitting in a bar in Charlestown having an Allagash White and watching the World Cup, resting before heading to the Bunker Hill monument.

@WeberWho - Friend from Alabama was telling me about a place back home called Papa Murphy's that builds pizza the way you want so you can take it home and cook it later. Just happened to be with him this afternoon and found one in Melbourne, Fl. Had to take this picture just for you.

$1500 to change heater core in my F150 was motivation enough for me. $60 part and 11hrs of my time.  Removed the entire dash.  Labeled and bagged every fastener and bracket.  Laid it all out on the ground in the order of removal.  Slow and steady.
