Ol' Tom doesn't do fast food.  OK, maybe In and Out Burger, or 5 Guys, rarely.  But when I was going to college and had very little money (hey, just like now), I'd eat at taco bell frequently.  My standard was 2 tacos and a green burrito.  With a small drink, it cost under a dollar.  Yessir, those were the days.

Dang. I remember when tacos were 50 cents a pop. I'm still in the targeted advertising demographic.

I believe tacos and bean burritos were 20 cents each back in the 60s.  And gas (during price wars) was 23 cents/gallon. We used to pool our change, come up with 75 cents, and that bought enough gas to make it to the beach and back (usually).

I can remember when Copenhagen was 18 cents a can. Now it's over 3 dollars everywhere and over 5 dollars a can some places. Times sure have changed. And not for the better.

I pine for the days when I could buy a tyrannosaurus rex primal for 5 clams.  I'm literally talking clams  Then there was the flood...I mean the one before Katrina.   Between that, typhoid and the Spanish inquisition, Copenhagen prices in my neck of the woods skyrocketed to around $4.50/can.   That's not a bad thing though...the tax part of bad stuff like snuff is supposed to help  discourage people from unhealthy habits, and the money used to support that health burden on tax payers.

Brother I have been dipping Copenhagen longer than most forum members have been alive. I know it's a awful habit but it should be taxed at the same rate as all other goods. How long will it be before they start putting the SIN tax on other things that we enjoy but they deem unhealthy. It's sad to me that a few people can tax products that we enjoy. It won't be long at all until they start doing it on pork, beef, soft drinks and any thing else they deem as unhealthy. If the good people like you and me don't start fighting back it won't be long before they tax us completely out of everything that we enjoy but they deem unhealthy. Sorry didn't mean to ramble my friend. But I hate taxes as bad as I hate Taco Bell!

Snuff. When I started you only had 3 choices if you don't count sniffing snuff. They were Copenhagen, Skoal and Happy Days. Long cut did not even exist back then.

@SGH. I think our bosses in DC are closer to Socialists than Democrats. Now I'll shut the heck up or go Off Topic.

Sometimes the truth hurts. Everything that you and I have said is the truth. Politicians get their salary from tax revenues. You and I pay the taxes. Every time they raise taxes they are affectively raising there salary and the pot that they steal money from. Everyone knows it.

Hey, I'm a numbers man.  Not an ideologue.  Not bragging or anything but I'll win most arguments about this kind of stuff in a formal debate.  Just not in my best interest to do it on a BBQ forum.

You are probably correct my friend. No more politician bashing. Im going to change the subject back to where it was. I hate Taco Bell and fast food! Not even the egg could make it edible. That being said I guess that Taco Bell won the battle against the egg. Sad but it's so.

Damn, I need to post the crawfish boil pics.  I was hoping you'd drop by SGH and make your burning ring o fire batch.  Cooked two sacks, they came out good but I could've used a lot more heat.

Sadly I can't find my CF card reader.
