Was in Boston Thursday for a family members medical appointments. Stopped at Trillium before heading back home - very tasty and highly recommend just about any Trillium pour.

Interesting in that a few years ago there was (key word) a forum member who's handle was "Pliny The Elder."  Not to be confused with the adult beverage.

Mmmm.  I've never found that one, only the elder.

We lived in Novato years ago ('92-'97), our first house was there and all of our kids were born there.  Great smallish town when we lived there, I hope she enjoys it.

I have moved to the dark side.  Always been a vodka or gin drinker until now.
    SWMBO took me to a distillery for a tour recently and what I learnt was that;
    1) this is not whisky, but I was too many samples in to remember why
    2) I like it with ice.

It appears to be a rye whiskey at 80 proof (must be at least 80 proof)  but not bourbon because of the lack of corn content. All bourbon is whiskey but not all whiskey is bourbon. If you can pick up on the subtle sandalwood notes you have a career in the business. Enjoy.

Don't be ridiculous, that would have required me to both read and pay attention.
Is whisky / bourbon / rye just like McDonalds, then?  Just check out the stars?
Other girls may try to take me away

Yes, it is exactly like that.   A couple more purchases and you'll want to swim to America!

Clearly it's the Oxford that draws one in.  Unmistakable marker for quality and taste.

Haven’t had bourbon since last Friday’s Zoom (for good reason).  Time to get back on the horse.

The MN bourbon scene continues to be trash. Haven’t seen BT since pre-covid. Did manage this barrel pick for $40.

That’s superior to BT anyway. Enjoy!

Glad to hear! This particular spot seems to get some solid barrel picks at decent prices. This one seemed like a no brainer.

Update: this needed a bit of air time to smooth out but its a damn good buy at $40 for a barrel proof store pick.

For Barrell, what are the good offerings and at what price points? Seems like they had 6 or 7 different labels last time I saw it around.

One of the brands I’ve not explored. By all accounts, it’s all darn good and some is spectacular. It’s a bit pricey but that’s mostly because they are “new” and “small”. Wish I could help but I’m definitely interested in your findings. 👍🏻
