After the fun day today (3-1/2” rain, which is why the Patagonia jacket is covering the BGE to dry out) I needed something to chill with.

This weekend I learned that Sazerac has a new, major, distributor in the Houston area and the rep said we should start seeing much more consistent shelving of products.saluki2007 said:Eagle Rare while watching John Wick 2. I see it occasionally but they want $100 or more. To me it isn’t worth more than the MSRP ($65).TechsasJim said:

@saluki2007
exactly, $65 is what I paid for it last at Total Wine. A couple buddies have found it for $180+ heck no...LBGE, 28” BS, Weber Kettle, HCI 7.8 SE Texas -
One of these headed my way. It’s a good day.

@TechsasJim, it appears Republic lost Saz and Crescent Crown is picking up their share. Hoping to see more consistency as well, highly doubt it though. These distributors all play the same games, some just don’t get caught doing it

@ColbyLang
Yes, over here it is going to Houston Distributing Company--very big group that handles quite a bit. I see your point and hope they are more "fair" than the previous group. One can hope...LBGE, 28” BS, Weber Kettle, HCI 7.8 SE Texas -
Word is out in our area. They pledged to store owners a more fair distribution of desirable or allocated whiskey. This includes pulling some away from the Chicago market that saw an overwhelming percentage of the stuff.TechsasJim said:@ColbyLang

How do I find out if distro/allocation is changing up here? Im in MN. Haven't seen any ER/BT/Blantons up here in well over a year.
-
It for sure is changing for all Sazerac products. They separated from the previous distributors. how that plays out for you?🤷🏼♂️ It’s wise to become chummy with your local liquor store employees and owners of possible. They could likely answer this question specific to you. 🥃FrostyEgg said:How do I find out if distro/allocation is changing up here? Im in MN. Had to do something strong. My Red Raiders basketball team has not looked so weak in forever. Young team but still frustrating.

I believe I may have overlooked Sazerac rye at $32 today. Solid buy at that price?

Kills me that Saz is that much where y’all are. $16 at Costco yesterday. $19 at grocery store. Go fancy, get their barrel pick for $22
-
Well hell I can’t find it anywhere around here for <$30 so that shows either my ignorance or the disparity.Man I need to make a run back down to Broussard/New Iberia (for work of course)LBGE, 28” BS, Weber Kettle, HCI 7.8 SE Texas

Fresh off the truck for $36.99 each at my local joint. Which is about the going rate around here. Did see the big bottle of Buffalo Trace (1.75L) for $51.99 but I have two single barrel bottles so I passed on that - for now.

A co-worker of mine met the owner in an airport once. He told me about it but has been hard to find until today.ColbyLang said:TechsasJim said:Not now but will later tonight after a dinner.

I've seen them at my local on the shelf. Let me know if you need a bottle and I'd be happy to pick one up for you.TechsasJim said:

@TechsasJim, I’ve got to order it directly from Milam. Not distributed in Louisiana
-
@Ragingirishman2
thanks I should be all set now. Local shop just set up with them and sounds like shelves will be stocked regularly.@ColbyLang. Cool they sell direct? From what my buddy said when he spoke with Ms Milam they are based in Blanco which is a cool little town here.LBGE, 28” BS, Weber Kettle, HCI 7.8 SE Texas
