For those hoarding much Total Wine points check your email, my buddy just let me know that because he has soooo many points he was offered to grab a bottle of Pappy 23 via them.   My guess is $1500 but when I mentioned that he balked without going further.  

I don’t have 1/1000 points he has so I didn’t get the invite.

It’s really nice.  I acquired this from @bucky925  a few years ago in a sweet parking-lot deal.  I only break it out for special occasions.

Good choice. I haven’t seen it in my neck of the woods in a while. I’m also a big fan of Rowan’s Creek and of course the Willet Pot Still.

Instead of saying fake news I should have said fake supply/demand.   While I am an Economist by education I appreciate the basic fundamentals of supply and demand.   

I guess where I am going is that there is really one house that is going through this, being BT/Sazarac.   My thought, and it’s simply that, is that they are intentionally under supplying the market to create artificial price spikes.   

Being in the 4th largest city in the US, and a very spirit friendly state, I find it odd that the only real distillery with these price spikes are from BT/Sazarac.  

I can readily find virtually all other bourbons commonly discussed:   Four Roses, Weller, Willet, Old Forrester, Noah/Rebecca, etc etc etc.  however those that are difficult to find, thus inflatedly priced, come from one distillery.  

Perhaps…just perhaps, they have SC issues.   However why would they be the only ones?   

Anyway, just imparting what I see locally which makes me scratch my head

  Its not just BT . Heaven Hill has issues , Willet etc... No , they are not undersupplying . That wouldn't help them one bit. They don't set the retail price .

Picked up a Remus reserve V to go with my IV and an Ezra full proof. Local guy wanted $300 for his weller12 and $140 for his 107 (already have 1). I think the Elmer was $200+. I passed at them all. He’s got a nice collection. All the Pappy and several other sellers, but meh, the Remus is great for retail pricing. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Agree its good stuff even the cheap stuff I got. They had another bottle that was $130 but too rich for me. Found another bottle of eagle rare like 15 mins ago though its nice to be able to find it again.
