I have used this method before, I did not need to add any water during the cook. It really is a stress free cook with great results..Enjoy.Greensboro North Carolina

I have done this method a couple times and never had to add more liquid, it always turned out fantastic._________________________________________________Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story!Large BGE 2006, Mini Max 2014, 36" Blackstone, Anova Sous Vide

Results were great for me. Not my moistest brisket ever, but definitely had the best flavor and tenderness. This is my 5th or 6th brisket, first time Travis style. Now "Travis" is a household name in my home. Travis and brisket, that's all I hear. Does it ever end?I did not run out of liquid in the pan, BTW. 7 lbs, and cooked for almost 9 hours.

Whats a good widely available rub to buy off the shelf for brisket? I want to try the Grand Champion stuff eventually just not wanting to drop $25 to try it right now.Jacksonville FL

I like the Cow Lick by Dizzy Pig. I've used it on all my briskets and they've all turned out great............thanks to Travis

I was lost, like a lamb in a tornado. Even the Three Wolf Moon T-shirt didn't work for me. Then I found this thread. The heavens parted, rain stopped, music filled the air and a sweet scent of smoked and boiled brisket filled me with glory. Thank you @travisstrick for bringing salvation and brisket into my previously pathetic life.

I haven't read all of this, so I apologize if this has been asked. Can I apply the rub, then mustard, then more rub and put overnight? Or does mustard and rub straight to the Egg suffice? I'd love some bark, and I thought that overnight was the way to do this. Thanks in advance!
-
The mustard isnt nessasary but yes, you can do exactly what you described, it will be fine.Be careful, man! I've got a beverage here.
