I am quite sure most everyone here and across the reach of the forum (at least on this side of the pond) is impacted by the current administration. To avoid any blow-back the OT forum has a very recent read from Bloomberg linked below. Scroll to today's postings.

Quite telling. You've gotta take the long view-like beyond January 2029 to help deal with the here and now.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -
Wish we had a mulligan. Also wish mid-terms were this year. Would be a blood bath for “republicans”.lousubcap said:I am quite sure most everyone here and across the reach of the forum (at least on this side of the pond) is impacted by the current administration. The “like” was for your show of support.JohnInCarolina said:Consoling a good friend who is pretty sure he's headed for divorce. And yes they have young kids. Sometimes life just sucks.Hopefully, he is part of the decision and can see some good in it. If not now, in time.Sucks for the kids, but depending on circumstances, it might be the better option regardless of current impact. Not a scenario I envy. -
Freezer was accidentally left a crack open within the last week. (I swear it must have been my wife!) Nothing thawed, but the ice buildup was epic. Took the opportunity to thaw it out completely, clean and reorganize. Not the best way to spend an evening, but very productive and satisfactory.

When in doubt, always blame the wife, but keep that part in your head while you apologize.GrateEggspectations said:Freezer was accidentally left a crack open within the last week. The sun’s out, it’s a long weekend and we’re merely 20 days from the first Test Match of the season (England hosting Zimbabwe at Trent Bridge - but you knew that). The PL flails on, with the upper middle-class fretting and everyone else just feeding out time and hoping for better future next time. We get underway tonight.
Friday
Man City v Wolves, the two in-form teams of the league meet, the hosts need points to underwrite a position in the CL next year while Wolves are spying a comfortable mid-table finish, despite dwelling too close the drop zone for a long spell. Both confident and fancying their chances 2-1
Saturday
Villa v Fulham, 7th host 8th but tow very different tales. The Villans are dropping away after recent exits from major competitions and now stuttering in the league. Fulham have risen without trace, again, and are angling for an obscure Euro spot. Neither in wholly reliable condition, 1-1.
Everton v Ipswich, futile and pointless waste of energy. 1-0
Leicester v Southampton, the most abject performers this season get to share notes and put to bed the debate literally no-one is having ’who is the worst team this year?’ If they could both lose, they would. 0-1 - but simply a side note in the end of year accounts.
Arsenal v Bournemouth, perhaps three points for free if one team really gives this proper go, but it screams draw 1-1
Sunday
Brentford v Man Utd, apparently the new administration perceive the last few months as a run away success despite all indications. Pyrrhic progress in a completion against minnows is sufficient to mask significant shortcomings in strategy and public confidence. I am speaking on Man Utd here, by the way. The Bees will want to finish top-half and Utd will give the kids a run out because the PL season is essentially over for them. 2-1
Brighton v Newcastle, decent test for the resurgent filthy Seagulls with a single victory under their belt in the last month - but apparently they are the future of football according to the sports press. Toon are rollicking along though, so one of the rare meaningful contests this weekend. 2-3
West Ham v Spurs, 17th welcome 16th - which tells you all you need to know about the quality of play likely to be on display. Spurs’ 34 games have involved 118 goals, which is impressive and that’s not an adjective you can level at the Hammers who have not even reached tepid levels of excitement. 1-2 because 0-0, which it ought to be, feel totally impossible for either team to achieve.
Chelsea v Liverpool, The Reds have wrapped up the league (and don’t we know it) while the Chles’ are making meaningful fist of claiming a CL spot. they could end as high as third, but it really depends on which Liverpool turn up. The morning after the party version feels likely, so 1-0
Monday
Palace v Forest, the Eagles soar like Icarus again after compressively dismissing Villa in the FA Cup semi-final. They now get another day out at Wembley in May, which - if you perceive it as just a day out, is lovely. Consider it a march to Cup success, then brace yourself for biting reality of where Palace fit in the food-chain. Forest are in peril of everything unravelling, they lost their FA Cup SF last week and have two defeats from three in the league. The spectre of also-rans after much promise and faux-modesty looms large. Probably a draw, 1-1
Three more weeks, just three more weeks. Stay strong.
Other girls may try to take me away

Dodged a bullet indeed. We went camping a few weeks ago. Left on Friday. Returned on Monday to find a huge pile of liquid in the garage. Freezer door wasn’t completely shut. Total loss. Beef, chicken, pork, 2 deer, and a lot of fish from a recent deep sea trip. All was completely thawed.DoubleEgger said:Sounds like a temperature alarm is in order. “She” dodged a bullet on that one.___________________________________

I'm tempted to suggest that Villa will now be singularly focused and will defeat Fulham, but I'm only thinking that based on the name "Fulham" historically making me think of tepid performances. I haven't seen this squad enough to actually assess them, so I'm going on record as supporting your entire slate and putting my life's savings on it with the local bookie.CPFC1905 said:The sun’s out, it’s a long weekend and we’re merely 20 days from the first Test Match of the season (England hosting Zimbabwe at Trent Bridge - but you knew that). The true sign of spring in this household.

-
Damn, we had flurries this a.m., but supposed to get into the low 20's this weekend. Still need another week until we can drive into the camp up north, and a few more days after that for the ice on the lake to leave. This winter keeps hanging on.GrateEggspectations said:The true sign of spring in this household.
