Here's the adult version of snaps nowadays.

These are pretty fun. It's a loud pop for what they are. I've meaning to lay down a roll under my wife's tire. (You can clearly see how much I've matured over the years with my post above.)

Took my share of road trips to the States as a kid. One memory that really stands out was discovering these, then seeking them out on subsequent trips. Didn’t have them at home, so as a young boy with no access to pyrotechnics while growing up, these were pretty fun.

my woodworking teacher back in eight grade found the bag of sawdust that these were packed in in the cafeteria. took it straight to the front office thinking it was a bag of weed..........not to knock on teachers; maybe, just a little

Reminds me of the time when I was in 8th grade during lunch I smashed up all my white Smarties candy and dumped them into a clear plastic sandwich bag I had. I slid all the Smartie dust to a corner of the plastic bag and twisted it tight. I took the bag and handed it to a girl at lunch and asked her to hold it for me as I had to go down to the principals office.

The girl ended up crying (not my intent) and a school lunch volunteer ended up asking her what was wrong. Next thing I know I'm really being walked down to the principals office with my white bag of powder!  :) They found out pretty quick that it was a little prank that I was playing on a classmate. The principal wasn't all that thrilled but let me off the hook with a verbal warning. That was enough for me to listen and lay off pranks for a little while!

too funny, i dont think i even knew what white powder was back then. as a nh hay seed, i remember getting a girl high with oregano, you should have seen how baked she got. the neighborhood smelled like a pepperoni pizza

You guys are amateurs with these pranks.  We set up a gigantic balloon filled with milk and inflated it over the headmaster's Jaguar while he was standing in the courtyard.  The balloon had a cartoon drawn on it of him kissing the ass of a trustee.   He got so pissed at it that he popped it himself, only to see it burst and cover him and his jag in milk!  We did this while using a PA system to mock him from above, which made sure everyone in the school was paying attention when it happened.

Was gonna guess hippo; a rhino’s horn is not an antler (which are shed annually) but a “horn” (as is a bighorn sheep’s) but maybe horns are still softer/different from bones, so they don’t fossilized as bones do, if at all.

I wondered the same, but they are made of keratin, so probably degrade much faster than bones. Also, both males and females reportedly have horns.

The Twins forgot they were the Twins during the first inning and scored a couple runs. Joe Ryan gave up a couple solo home runs back to back in the top of the second inning to tie it up. The Twins bats went cold the rest of the game.

The Wild might possibly see your Knights coming up for a wildcard game depending on how the last few games of the season go.

It would be a good series, especially if the Wild get Kaprizov back. Too bad Flower won’t get a chance to flash some magic barring injury.

As an Astros fan, I’m expecting a 90+ loss season this year. Although I’m not exited about the A’s and the cost of the ball park, I can’t wait to be close to MLB games.

I think it will be either the Knights or the Jets for the Wild. It will help having Kaprizov and Joel Eriksson Ek healthy for the playoffs. I don't know if we stand much of a chance between either teams but it should be some good hockey nonetheless.

I think the Twins will end up somewhere around 3rd in the Central. They've looked awful but Royce Lewis and Brooks Lee haven't played yet this season because of injuries. The central looks like sheet show so far. I think anyone might have a chance of taking it maybe besides the White Sux.

I can't even imagine the excitement with a MLB team coming to town. That would be awesome! Unfortunately you probably won't be getting Oakland's pricing with tickets though. The nice part with today's opener for the Twins was that it was on a Thursday afternoon, the weather was in the low 40's, and the Twins are off to a slow start. So there was no shortage of tickets for the opener. I was able to snag a few tickets online this morning for $12/ticket. Even if it wasn't a picture perfect opener I had no right to complain given the expense.

Let me bring news that is of clam stability and serene progress to a clear conclusion.  PL football and politics may have ‘inverted’ - to quote Mav’ but we can’t be worrying about that when there are theoretical chances of possible qualification to obscure Euro comps to be competed over.  It’s what we all yearn for, yes?

Everton v Arsenal - four draws and then a defeat have stalled the Toffees’ surge up the table, but they are safe now and that was not certain little while ago. The Gunners stay 2nd and likely have enough in the tank to stay there. 0-1

Palace v Brighton - ah, so it’s that game is it?  The FA Cup thrills last week and the a mid-week tie in the PL have drawn the eye from this looming encounter.  Best and worst day of the year.  We have form and home advantage on our side, while the filthies got whacked mid-week.  It’s always a draw, so 1-1 it is.

Ipswich v Wolves - Tractor boys snaffled a rare win mid-week but that was akin to throwing a starving dog a rubber bone. 9 points adrift with 8 to play, they need to out perform Wolves in almost every match to have a sniff of survival.  Oh and look who is visiting? Away win seals their fate. 1-2

West Ham v Bournemouth - the non-starters host the slumpers.  Looking like seasons to forget for both, albeit ten points apart. The Hammers never got off the ground and the Cherries flirted with the higher echelons but have faded fast.  1-1

Villa v Forest, big game and the one to watch.  Forest just keep finding a way and look very likely to squeeze a big name out of the top 4.  Villa have sprung back to life, which means more for their Euro voyage this season than breaking the top 4, but carry on in this vein and anything could happen  2-2

     Sunday

Brentford v Chelsea - The Chelsea are 4th and on the upswing The Bees are no pushover but have been inconsistent. Tricky to call as even the draw does not feel right.  I’ll follow the money and go with a narrow 0-1.

Fulham v Liverpool - Reds are on a roll and have just over 50% of all available hands on the trophy. Some distance short of crowning, but a win here feels inevitable and the maths starts to swing towards them. 0-2

Spurs v Southampton - two abject teams, albeit Spurs have 24 points more than their guests this week.  The fans are in tumult in North London, while it’s astonishing the Saints still have any fans.  4-2,  just because it’s them Spursy Spurs

Man Utd v Man City - high tension, as ever, but both teams have had the seasons that nightmares are made of - by their standards. Utd could end the match 15th, or 12th - while City could creep in to the top 4.  The latter is slightly more probable, but it’s cigarette paper thin. 2-2

    Monday

Leicester v Newcastle - the Foxes are going out with a whimper. Toon will see this a banker that keeps their top 4 dreams alive. And that is not a fetid cheese dream but one rooted in maths, as they have a game in hand over their peers and every fan assumes that is an inevitable win.  0-3

Because this week’s forecast will cost you 10% more,  use it well.

Wonderful as always.  I don't know which Manchester team to properly discount to guess on the outcome.  My gut tells me that Man U don't have 2 goals in them while Citeh might.

There really isn’t a lot excitement in the city right now. Probably because it is still three years away and the club that is coming. Hopefully Fisher sells the team when the move happens and we get a quality ownership group. Either way, it should be a great time.

When we lived in Houston, we were able to score cheap tickets. I think we paid like $30 a seat for 1st base three rows up. $15 for Crawford boxes in left field
