You’re assuming Trump knew about Hegseth’s baggage when he announced the pick. Certainly possible, but I haven’t seen much evidence of that.

I thought that was CHEETO'S opening with Gaetz and doubling down with Hegseth. After him it's smooth sailing for the remainder.

Well, they're trying to eliminate birthright citizenship for native Americans born on reservations because "they aren't subject to the jurisdiction of the US" or some **** like that.

I was really wondering why they would bother to go after that, beyond the normal just be an **** MO. I hope I'm wrong, but I'd bet this is the first step toward eliminating sovereign lands for native Americans.

I wonder where the line is for those of you that voted to own the libs or bring down the price of eggs. And have you asked yourself, are you, your family, your friends and your colleagues white enough for what's coming? Where is your line?

it does seem like most people with 20+ years in the corporate world or other large organizations could say "yeah, this feels like several times in the past (that were survived) where i observed gross nepotism, loyalty over capability, and a 'burn it down and see how it builds back up' mentality".

i spend just as much time, regardless of whatever political chaos sticks, wondering about the potential chaos coming with the transfer of wealth when baby boomers pass on. it seems like the realities that people will accept will be a lot different when they go from "i can't buy a house" to "i inherited a couple of houses"

It seems like your view is that it doesn’t really matter all that much who the President is, things won’t change all that greatly. I actually think this might be the view of lots of Americans, and I think I can understand how they got to that perspective, even if I don’t agree with it.

I might return to that one later, but just to bring this back to Hegseth for the moment, do you think it doesn’t matter all that much who is in charge of the Department of Defense? What someone like that knows, what they don’t know? How much experience they have? The content of their character?
