Quick lunch… sweet soy noodles, with bits of chix pan fried in sesame oil, ginger, pepper, and Thai chilies.

Right out of a food porn magazine. I would crush that.

I've been watching the wrong porn apparently. I didn't even know there was food porn. I feel like that kind of porn would make my pants tighter for longer than the porn I've been watching lately. It would make my future pants purchases make more sense. Someone should have told me this

Damn, looks better than any I've seen in Hakka restaurants. If this is your sibling's yardstick she'd be very disappointed if she orders this dish.caliking said:Quick lunch… sweet soy noodles, with bits of chix pan fried in sesame oil, ginger, pepper, and Thai chilies.

Went to a neighbour’s for a swim and ended up with an unexpected (and very welcome) treat.

Maybe not, but the only other thing I ate yesterday was a bagel/cream cheese, a dill pickle and some beans (and I always eat beans). Last night was another painful disaster and I only got about 4 hours of sleep. For lunch today I made my Mom's recipe for "Gradeschool-Cafeteria 'Murican Goulash", which is the most benign yet satisfying dish I know. My GIT was still setting off seismographs at Oregon State U. during lunch, but within an hour my gut settled down, and its been a quiet, happy afternoon.caliking said:
I don't think your GI malaise stems from the baking powder. Your stomach acid would have neutralized/buffered it. Or, vice versa.
And I'm not blasting Hindenburg-volume amounts of methane at my home's inner walls as I was the last couple nights, and hope to get some sleep tonight. Maybe stomach acid and BP neutralize to PRODUCE all that gas/pain? At any rate, no more BP and chicken, ever, for me.
Sorry about posting this in the "Cheffing Tonight" thread, but There It Is...

Would that I had neighbours (nod) like that. Lobster rolls in Ottawa. They look great.Better to be lucky than good right there.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Lasagna last night (and shrimp since I had some in the freezer). First time broiling shrimp for me I think. Pleased with how the shrimp retained its flavor under the broiler. The classic family recipe for the lasagna. For the shrimp — some Tuscan herbs, preserved tomato “innards” that my Ma jars up each year, and a little balsamic vinaigrette to bring it together.

Pepper stout beef has been on my last for a while. Finally took a crack at it, after a recent thread by @dbCooper.Mesquite for smoke. Couldn’t find any Worcestershire sauce in the cupboard, so had to wing it.Plated with grits and asparagus. It was delicious.

That looks awesome. Planning on pepper stout tomorrow. Now planning grits to go with it. Great idea!Snellville, GA

Awesome recipe. Can’t believe I’ve never tried this. Thank you @caliking for the grit and asparagus inspiration. The grits were a perfect pairing, instead of mashed potatoes.

Marinated a small, local organic chicken in a couple of beers, grilled raised direct and basted with butter, ground hatch powder and lime juice. Wife made some street corn from fresh and a
salad that was camera shy.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER -
Nice plate @Leg@Legume
Just beer in the marinade, or any other aromatics/spices? What did you think of it?#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.
