Any particular brand you shopping? I'm partial to Hoyt, but haven't shopped for a new bow in about 5 years.DuckDogDr said:Online shopping for a new bow, been shooting a recurve for forever. Planning on trying a compoundI would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

@Ozzie_Isaac
Not one in Particular. I am leaning towards Hoyt just because I’ve been really really happy with my Satori and it’s everything They say it is. Also considering Mathews just because a lot of my friends have them and like them and are just cosmeticly more appealing to my eye as stupid as that sounds.
The Shop by my girlfriend’s house carries all of the big manufacturers Hoyt, Matthews, Elite, Prime and Bowtech, and they have a descent reputation.Planning on shooting all of them when I actually have cash in hand.Not going to buy without being able to test fire. Strangely ran into that scenario this past summer. Shop by work wouldn’t let me shoot until I bought the bow in case something happened to it… not very reassuring.If for whatever reason no dice there then there is an archery shop close to a clinic I fill in at in Texas, was really impressed with their customer service watching their interactions with clients while I was just killing time over a lunch break one day. Will just take an extra day and spend money with them. They only carry Matthews bows though.The archery shop in my home town sucks from my own impression and my gunsmith buddy has to re-thread and drill out rounded and broken bolts where they mess them up weekly and slip him money under the table to fix their mess ups. Also know numerous other folks that are no longer willing to trade with them. -
Reports are that Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest on the field. Had to use AED and CPR to re-establish heartbeat

I read in one (unreliable) group chat, that he passed. Is it true, or is he still alive?ColbyLang said:Reports are that Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest on the field. Had to use AED and CPR to re-establish heartbeatNapoleon Prestige Pro 665, XL BGE, Lots of time for BBQ! -
Awesome brother. On a similar note I picked up a Ruger 10/22 Takedown yesterday and did the paperwork for an integrally suppresses barrel.DuckDogDr said:Online shopping for a new bow, been shooting a recurve for forever. Planning on trying a compound

@DuckDogDr that is awesome you get to try all the majors, then pick the one that you like the best. They seem to all have advanced so much, it is really the small details now.
It is amazing how difficult it can be to find a good dealer. I really struggle trusting anyone with my gear.
@SGH nice! Years ago, I was heavy into the rimfire scene. Built up a lot of 10/22s and did a lot of trigger work and receiver work. They are fantastic guns. A suppressed one will be perfect for varmints. Will you modify the recoil spring for subsonic ammo? What suppressor setup will you be using?I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

@Ozzie_Isaac
So far the gun runs subs no problem. That is with the factory barrel and an Sig Sauer can. I’m hoping for the same with the Ruger ISB. However if I encounter problems I will modify it.

That is a sweet setup. Been a minute since I have looked into new rimfires, and didn't realize Ruger was in the factory suppressor game. Might have to send ol'Joe $200 myself.

They don’t make screw on cans but they do make the ISB for the 10/22 Takedown. Been making it for 5 years or so now. It’s bad azz 👍Ozzie_Isaac said:

Under a winter storm warning...again. Bourbon may make its way into the shoveling plan later.

Drinking a tall bourbon as I just spent dang near three hours with an Apple tech successfully restoring all my email folders ( some 60 +) that randomly decided to disappear as I was drafting an email.
Dodged a "Devastating" bullet right there.
