Cuz our Dear Leader says if you don't get tested you can't test positive therefore you can't have the chinese virus. It's basic science!!!

  • Who knows? Every spring I have allergy issues. I remember a worse than usual case with a bad sinus headache in February to early March but it was over within a week . In the family nobody through the first cousin range(34 of us) has tested positive. 3 in the second and third cousin range have tested positive. They are all descended from my first cousin’s husband who also had a moderately bad case of it. His daughter and granddaughter had less severe cases in that order and severity. So it seems that the family has at least moderate resistance.

I probably had it early this year.  I was out of commission for 3 weeks.  Couldn't get out of bed until 10am. Back in bed 6pm. Fever.  Don't remember all the symptoms.  I had chest stuff going on. It was not fun. Never had anything like it before.  I don't usually get sick.  I'm also a big baby when I'm sick.  😁

I had Diarrhea for a week, so maybe I had it. No other symptoms though.

I’m curious for those of you claiming you haven’t had it - how do you know for sure?

I've been tested twice and had an antibody test.

What caused you to get a test?  Was a job requirement?

My Daughter got it when she was away from home.  Made her stay in place for ~2 weeks before I let her come home.  Shes 18 and healthy for her it was a strong cold, mild flu.

    I think so.

We were in Italy at the first of the year, and finished it in Venice, about the time when all hëll broke loose in Northern Italy.

2 weeks after returning home, My Beautiful Wife and I had never been more sick in our lives. Elevated temps, muscle pain, wicked sore throat, congestion and headaches.

I could not crawl out of bed for a week, My Beautiful Wife was the same.

In February, I went for a check up. I asked if the Covid19 flu was a possibility for me, and he said, at that time, there is standing protocol, to prevent such things from spreading in to the USA, and he ghought then it was unlikely.

Then in May I was tested and those tests came back negative for infection, which I had expected.

Recently a fellow member of this forum shared a link about Covid19 with me, which contained information about symptoms during, and related problems that continue ..... after you have successfully fought off this virus.

I had/have all the symptoms listed in that link.
One that was extremely telling was my problem with potassium levels. I am a life long K supplement user to get my levels up to just below normal.
My last physical, that number had skyrocketed to 12× the high end range for normal.

Also the chest pains. I had to go to the ER due to severe chest pains that were unexplainable. Did every test I could, they could find no issues. Still have them and they hurt so incredibly bad, it scares the heck out of me.

My last visit with my doctor, since much more has been learned, he seems to think it was likely we had the virus, even though I have had 2 antibody tests that came back negative.

I do not know for sure, but whatever it was, I want no more of it.

I personally tested positive for over a month.  My wife and our two year old tested positive less then a week after I came in contact with the spreader.  I can’t stress how easy the virus spreads. Fortunately for our family it wasn’t to serious and everyone has recovered.

Potential exposure, mostly. Testing is free and easy here, so why not?  I got the antibody test as part of routine blood work because I was curious.

I was tested pre-surgery before I had appendectomy. Negative. No one in my immediate family has had it

One of my business partners had it roll through his house about a month or so ago.  His son went to some type of event where somewhere around 30 kids ended up testing positive including him, so they brought him home to quarantine & of course he spread it to mom & dad, both of which ended up testing positive as well.  The son (19yo) reported zero symptoms & wouldn’t have gotten tested had it not been for the big breakout, the wife (54yo) had what she described as a cold for a few days, and my partner, also 54, described his symptoms as the most horrendous flu he’s ever had for 48 hours, then it rapidly dissipated & he was back in the office within a week which I thought was odd, but it all ended well (we work out of different offices).

I’m a bit surprised that after 6+ months of this that this is the only story I personally know of, particularly given that I live right outside of Philly which was part of the US epicenter early on.

I haven’t been tested nor have I had a reason to, I run my own branch office so I don’t have any higher ups dishing out testing or other related protocols, just using common sense.  I never closed my office out of any personal fear of this situation, & it was also on the list of essential services so I wasn’t forced to close by the state even during those times when many businesses had no choice but to shut down, though given the ghost town atmosphere back in March/April I probably could’ve closed just for lack of activity – but alas there was nothing else to do.

If/when I exhibit symptoms I’ll go get the test & follow the bouncing ball from there.  Following my review of the latest CDC updates & having no comorbidities I remain unconcerned about the outcome, at least no more concerned than I am about the million & one other ways this planet can take me out at any given moment.  If I somehow end up in that tiny percentage that gets croaked even without the grab bag of other health problems, meh, C'est La Vie

Only person I know is my brother. All he had was a loss of taste and smell for 3 days. No other symptoms but had a positive test result.

Ron, sorry to hear about all of that.  I had no idea. I hope at least the chest pains start to diminish.  That would freak me out for sure.
