I probably did. Had pneumonia but they would not test me as test kits were limited last March. It kicked my butt for a few weeks!

Tested positive in April. Was volunteering at a local food bank and state DPH was offering free tests. Figured why not. Got the call a couple days later. Did the whole 14 day quarantine. Wife tested negative. Other than recurring headaches and a little shortness of breath was pretty asymptomatic. Thought it was allergies.  Slight shortness of breath continues.

    I think so.

We were in Italy at the first of the year, and finished it in Venice, about the time when all hëll broke loose in Northern Italy.

2 weeks after returning home, My Beautiful Wife and I had never been more sick in our lives. Elevated temps, muscle pain, wicked sore throat, congestion and headaches.

I could not crawl out of bed for a week, My Beautiful Wife was the same.

In February, I went for a check up. I asked if the Covid19 flu was a possibility for me, and he said, at that time, there is standing protocol, to prevent such things from spreading in to the USA, and he ghought then it was unlikely.

Then in May I was tested and those tests came back negative for infection, which I had expected.

Recently a fellow member of this forum shared a link about Covid19 with me, which contained information about symptoms during, and related problems that continue ..... after you have successfully fought off this virus.

I had/have all the symptoms listed in that link.
One that was extremely telling was my problem with potassium levels. I am a life long K supplement user to get my levels up to just below normal.
My last physical, that number had skyrocketed to 12× the high end range for normal.

Also the chest pains. I had to go to the ER due to severe chest pains that were unexplainable. Did every test I could, they could find no issues. Still have them and they hurt so incredibly bad, it scares the heck out of me.

My last visit with my doctor, since much more has been learned, he seems to think it was likely we had the virus, even though I have had 2 antibody tests that came back negative.

I do not know for sure, but whatever it was, I want no more of it.
Ron, sorry to hear about all of that.  I had no idea. I hope at least the chest pains start to diminish.  That would freak me out for sure.

And to the folks who flagged the above post - what in God's name is wrong with you?
That was why I had to back away for a while. With work and everything else, I just had to try my best just to get through the day. To say I feel better now is an understatement. I still have some issues my doctor and I are working through; change of diet, meds, etc., and I have noticed an improvement for sure. The potassium issue is the major concern right now. I go back in 3 weeks.
    We will see what happens.
Im hoping your doctor had you retested on the high potassium? My blood work last year the potassium came back really high so they had me retake it. Something about blood cells rupturing in the sample causes a false reading. Mine was fine the 2nd test.
He has pulled me off meds that tend to react with the potassium levels in my body. A BP med I was on until recently was one of those. I have been hiking 5 miles/day when at home with my pup, and that helped tremendously. My BP was last measured at 106/65, so he took me off that.  My cholesterol is 185, but my K is just off the charts.
I will be getting a battery of tests, and right now I have to stay off potassium rich foods, which are some of my faves.

    We will see what happens.

Thanks for the information and the heads up.

NP. I would request a retest if you google it its pretty common for false high readings for potassium. That was the first thing my doctor did. Glad you are feeling better.

  • I tested positive July 2nd. Wasn’t too bad. Took forever for my smell and taste to return. I still have trouble smelling some things. When I put on cologne, I smell the alcohol but not the scent. It’s weird.
