    I agree with Snapchat and other "temporary messaging apps", they are also a no go.

    TikTok is a Chinese owned social app with shady privacy policies.  My main issue were the actual TikTok videos though.  Many were hilarious and/or cool.  However a large portion were rascist, misogynistic, hateful, and just completely inappropriate.  There was no good way to screen or remove that content.

    The icing on the cake for me was the videos making fun of disabled people and mentally handicapped kids.  I generally do not get bothered by much, but that stuff really angers me.  TikTok does nothing to remove or restrict that content.

    Looks like Microsoft is in line to buy the US operations of TikTok. Something similar going on in Japan as well.

    I highly recommend the deShed tool, no experience with their other products.  The amount of undercoat it removes is impressive.  There are some breeds (terriers I think) it should not be used on.  This link should give you more details...

    Yes, it was more egregious.  Paraphrasing, but my take away was "we own everything you create and everything in your phone including images, contacts, documents, etc.  We reserve the right to sell or give away all of this information".

    Sitting 107 deg weather and my AC unit just died. Fan motor or start up capacitor is bad.  Hoping it did not wipe out the compressor motor too.

    Luckily, we have two units.  May be sleeping in my office tonight.

    That sounds like a lot of apps in the US. The US needs to put in place the same sort of data privacy protection laws that the EU has had in order to eliminate that sort of bs.

     Home warranty company: "We can have a technician there on Wednesday".
    Me: it is 107 degrees outside".
    HWC: you can pick your own contractor and after we approve them on Monday, they can do the work.
    Me: It is Saturday and I need to wait till Monday to get approval to do the work?
    HWC: Yes, we are glad to help you.

    I am pretty confident they do this on purpose.  I now weigh comfort, convenience and cost with their red tape.

    I feel ya on everything but the 107°.  We just had an A coil go out on my upstairs AC. The unit was about 20yrs old and still using R22 refrigerant. Could find compatible parts.  New A coil and outside unit 4 grand later.
