63 yards with a squared off half shoe tied around his ankle.  Old school, straight on approach.  For me that will always be the record.

That second sentence is certainly one way to look at things:

Church has been live streamed the last 3 weeks now. I have to admit that it did feel a little strange cooking bacon, eggs, and pancakes on the Blackstone while listening to the sermon this morning.

Local restaurant owner is posting all day on her facebook selfies with other business owners and customers that come in for pickup orders. Has been since the second week of February.  called her out on that shiz, and she said she believes in God so she doesnt have to live in fear. Wtf is wrong with some of these religious peeps....... I should have put her on blast on her public page.

Brutal assessment of the US response here:

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2020/04/04/coronavirus-government-dysfunction/?arc404=true

Many many mistakes were made.  I hope we start to do better.
So the rest of you guys can read that?  I'd read it yesterday (I have a digital sub with WaPo) but didn't try to post it because of the firewall, and trying to copy/paste it, was a disaster and I gave up.
A very thorough, and scary, piece.  Everyone needs to take the time to read it all.

We lost a friend of ours last night. We were notified by his ex-wife today. A father of two young sons, a long time UPS employee, became ill last week, 7 days ago, and died last night at 11:00 P.M.

He was with his children the weekend prior to his illness, it was the last time he saw his two boys.

He called his ex wife, just before he died, to tell her and the children goodbye, because he did not think he would ever wake up again.

Our friend and his co parent had the children to make a card for his casket, however there will be no funeral due to the possible danger that remains.

If you pray, pray for his family, his children, his girlfriend and his ex wife who lost a wonderful co parent.

If you don't pray, keep them in your thoughts, and please for all that is wonderful on earth.....stay safe.

He was 46. No known underlying health issues. He could not get tested. He was like you and I. Proud parent working hard to provide, trying to get through.

These are the people that do not have priveledge for testing, much less immediate results.

Forgive me for my anger due to my selfish sense of loss. I fear this story will become common for us in the next several weeks and months, and I hope it will not be to you.

This country needs to come together and realize the danger each of us face.

Understand why we are here, and realize what we must do to change the direction of this crisis.

    7 days.

My parents shared this piece with me.  It discusses what it means to be placed on a ventilator.  I am guessing they shared it with me as they'll want to discuss options before going this route themselves, if it comes to that.  It's worth your time:

Ron...that is some hard news to hear. I'm sorry that this has touched so closely to your home.

I fear it will touch someone on the forum more directly sooner than later.

    I hope I'm wrong.

@JohnInCarolina   Thanks for that article.  I  have DNR documents in all my advance directives and wear a DNR bracelet, been that way for a few years.  Family had some initial issues but are accepting.  Tough choices now and ahead for way too many.

A 63 yard FG in 1970, yeah I'm old enough to have seen it on TV. Before that Lou "The Toe" Groza for Cleveland had a 53 yard FG in 1948. Wasn't born then but I remembered him as he played until 1967.

Sorry for your loss as well @YukonRon. We have a family friend who has worked for UPS for many years. He delivers in our neighborhood and turns around in our cup de sac if he is making a delivery on our street. I get to see him a lot. Hoping we will continue see him.

I understand the sentiment. An individual feeling justified in their choice to endanger others because of their personal faith is selfish. But I’d bet dollars to donuts at least one person took that sideways.

So sorry to hear of your friend, @YukonRon.

There was some feeling of complacency/reassurance when earlier data suggested that those >65yo had higher mortality rates. Sadly, we're seeing that younger age groups are having higher mortality than was previously evident.
